A fine antique bronze Chinese bronze buddha with very fine details in the hand mudra postures. Measuring approx. 8 inches tall a fine example.
Description: An Archaic bronze seal with a casting knob of a couple (means harmony) was from Song dynasty. The meaningful knob was accompanied with the joyful inscription of A rabbit motif. A scholar item was probably used in Chinese studio for making stamp inscription on a script of poem or a beautiful painting.

A Jizhou jar was applied with beautiful tortoiseshell glaze on the surface.
In nice condition, the glaze was yielded with finely spread crackles.
The characteristic soft paste was revealed in beige tint.
The jar was used as a water coupe for scholar work or a tea power mixer in tea ceremony.

Description: A rare and lovely Yaozhou russet-glazed incense burner was in simple form. Wide-mouthed and with high-set
shoulders when the neck is narrowed and the lip is rolled, the jarlet was applied with persimmon glaze inside and out of the surface. The bottom was flat and was concaved to a round circle.
The unglazed base had turned to a buff skin during firing, and in a firm quality which were all the characteristics for a Yaozhou ware. Date: Song period(11th/12th Century), Height: 6.6cm

This type of tissue holder is called "Hakoseko". This is to be placed between Obi and Kimono with the chains dangling in the chest area. Hakoseko is still being used today for very special ceremonial occasions, but it is very difficult to find an old quality piece like this.
