This is a fine, beautiful and brightly coloured example of a small “Jun” ware bowl which was treated as a “manufacturing defect”. The bowl is well glazed in a bright lavender colour with pooling of a bright blue sky glaze at the base of the bowl. It would have been a fine piece if not for an overglazed which has resulted in an overflow of a big pool of the glaze down to the sagger. When it cooled down, the glaze glued the base of the bowl to the sagger...

Yuan blue and white Jar with two lugs. Decorated by chrysanthemum scroll motif. Flat and unglazed base. Height = 5.5 cm Yuan dynasty 14th century. Condition : very good, without damage or restoration.

Foliated bowl with incised lotus petal in the interior. Porcelain body with a transparent glaze. Base recessed and unglazed. H= 6 cm, D : 12.5 cm. Jingdezhen or Fujian. Yuan Dynasty fourteenth century. Condition : Excellent no hairline, cracks, chips or restorations.

In bhumisparsa mudra. The eyes inlaid with glass or seashell. Condition: the head broken and repaired at the neck ( old repair) , the ushnisha slightly curved. The red and blue painting on the base are later. Lovely piece with beautifyl patina. H. 37 cm. From a Dutch private collection.

The pear-shaped body rising to a slender neck with two handles and decorated with moulded phoenix on the body, covered with qingbai glaze to the foot; unglaze base. Yuan Dynasty, 30 cm height. a small chip to the foot rim, no cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations.

Description: A beautiful and elegant jade pendant was carved in Chinese chrysanthemum's shape. By six petals, the pistil was skillfully and intriguingly carved with a movable jade ring in the middle. The jade pendant was in Houtien quality and in greenish tint. With mature double-side craftmanship, this mid-Qing period's piece can be added to your precious jade collections. Tibetan butterfly-shaped woolen under-saddle rug "Makden", made in two pieces in knotted pile. Backed with purple cotton, edged with red wool fabric and having two not pierced strap holes. Decorated with peony flowers and waves. Condition: clean, full pile only few areas with little wear, backing with a small hole. Dimension: 112 cm x 72 cm.

A lovely washer bowl or wan bowl with lotus petal motif on the exterior. PERIOD : Song Dynasty (12-13th Century). MEASUREMENT : 13 cm wide, 6 cm height. CONDITION : a crack line; free from restorations

This style of Rattan helmet was worn by all foot soldiers during the Qing Dynasty. This helmet retains traces of its original painted symbols, no longer readable, it is presumed that they indicated specific troop or brigade to which the owner belonged.

Charger covered with green glaze and decorated with chrysantemum on the center; glazed base. PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 34 cm wide. CONDITION: glaze degradation, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations. Good sound when tapping by finger tips.

Description:

A Junyao cup was in decent shape and was applied with charming bluish glaze.
By well shaped foot ring which revealed with brownish-tint body clay, the oval cup was incursioned on the surface with blurred and earthern-feel condition.

A rare 17th century Japanese Lacquer table performed in the Nanban style exhibited in 1972 at the Kyoto National Museum (including paperwork from the museum). Overall it is in excellent condition, enclosed in an older wooden storage box. It is 12 x 17 x 14 inches (31 x 43 x 36 cm)...

Pale green glazed, red firing ring base. Interior decorated carved floral pattern. Dimater = 17.5 cm Height = 6 cm Longquan Kilns, Zhejiang, Yuan Dynasty. Condition : shipwreck glaze, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration.

Blue and White Dish with flower on vase decoration on the interior and full floral scroll on the exterior. Width = 20.5 cm. Ming Dynasty. Condition : Excellent, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration.

A small Chinese blue and white porcelain dish. Foo Dogs with balls amongst clouds and flames decoration. The white glaze pooling to a pale celadon tone inside the rim and around the foot. A four character underglaze blue hall mark appears inside root rim. Acquired from Amos Judd and Son antiques on Howard Street in Baltimore in the early 90's. Reasonably good condition with some fritting to the rim but no cracks and a sure and clear resonance when tapped. Diameter approximately 5 inches (13 cm)

Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Attendant Figure

This pottery model of a male attendant, or servant, was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). The figure stands with hands clasped together under a wide-sleeved robe. Note the presence of purpose-made holes above and below where the hands would be where a flag or banner (?) would originally have been placed diagonally, and presumably made of wood so long since rotted away and lost...

A circular red lacquer incense box imitating carved lacquer. The lid decorated with a rakan riding on a kylin. Black lacquer to the interior and with an old label: "Laque de Nara / donné par M. Morita". Condition: rims with tiny losses, lid inside with a crack and glue residue, base with some wear. Dimension: diameter: 7.8 cm, 2.4 cm high.

An extremely rare pair of original 18th century elm wood lacquered folding chairs. All the parts are original including the original lacquer. Only replacements were the hardware in the folding joints as the originals had rusted out. The back panel has an open- work floral design with a cloud design on the upper and lower panels. A fine 18th century Chinese molded celadon-glazed porcelain dish, finely decorated chrysantemum flower with the rim, covered overall in green glazed. DATE : Qianlong (1736 - 1795). SIZE : D = 28 cm CONDITION : very good condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse (AD 618 - 906)

This pottery model of a horse was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a reddish-brown pigment with black and white pigments to highlight the head, mane and tail. The horse stands straight, alert, looking ahead.

Description: A stylized brushrest was displayed in a strong form. Carved in a unique shape from one solid block of Zitan wood, the wooden scholar piece was depicted in the front by an open work as scholar rock's shape. On the back, simple flouring lines were carved to render the rock's profile.In an unusual size, the wooden scholar rock was adherent firmly to the stand which was also made of Zitan wood...

Porcelain decorated with two qilin among ribbons on the center, glazed base. PERIOD : Early Ming (1400-1487 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 20 cm wide. CONDITION: two hairline, two small chips to the rim; free from restoration.

A bizarre pottery mass of two tea bowls and a stand fused together after collapsing in the kiln some four hundred years ago. It is 17 x 13 x 11 cm (6-1/2 x 5 x 4-1/2 inches). There is something to be said here about best laid plans. All the potters craft and experience and yet nature intervenes, creating this vitrified sculpture for later generations to contemplate.

Massive Chinese Jin to Yuan dynasty (12th/13th century) Henan dark brown/black glazed horizontally ribbed ovoid form stoneware jar with high, wide shoulders narrowing at the base. The thick glaze drips down toward the flat, unglazed base. The rich black/brown glaze, referred to as “temmoku” by the Japanese, is highlighted by a russet colored cylindrical neck and rim. Measures about 13” high x 13 1/2” diameter. Very good overall condition with typical surface scratches to the glaze.

This type of fan is used for traditional Japanese dancing. Great home decor item combined with the other Japanese items. It is made out of black lacquer wooden sticks and a thick paper with designs on both side. Handpainted and new. The measurements are 20" across and 11 1/2" high. Black plastic wall hanger included.

Description: A beautiful agate "Juia" was excavated in intact condition without any incursions. With fantastic image, this pendant or an earring can be authenticated by its manual craftsmanship. Ex. the cutting sections of the agate surface with ridges can be observed that it was made by simple instruments and manual cutting skills. And the polishing was omitted without special attentions at the tips of the cutting ends and at the inner side of the rim...

A water-worn bowl of natural wood lacquered inside with black and gilded, leaving black lacquer on the rim, to create a startling contrast between the mirror like black, shining gold and ancient weathered wood. It is enclosed in a period wooden box titled Jidai Kihachi Sunabachi (antique Wooden Sunabachi Bowl). It measures 34.5 x 30 x 11 cm (14 x 12 x 4 inches). There are two hairline cracks in the gold (see photos).

Japanese limited-edition abstract sosaku hanga woodblock print by Hideo Hagiwara (1913-2007) titled "Bird." The print is pencil-signed, dated '58, and numbered 5/30 on the bottom margin. This print is an example of a reverse printed image on fine, transparent, slightly crinkled paper that is characteristic of his early work. Lovely group of 3 Mingqi pottery figures, partly glazed in green and painted with black, red and yellow pigments. Detacheable heads and hands. Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The dating of this group is consistent with the results of TL-test no. 05231113 by Laboratory Ralf Kotalla. H. 29 cm. Nice burial condition with expected age wear.
