In this panoramic landscape painting, Thomas Curtin has rendered a view of Mount Mansfield in the distance, silhouetted against a sky filled with cumulus clouds highlighted in pink by a setting sun. A shady brook meanders its way through a valley, drawing the observer's eye to the mountain beyond...

Matching the set of sterling cufflinks that are also currently available in my inventory, a Margot de Taxco equestrian brooch in superb repousse with depth enhanced by gorgeous patina and Margot's signature quality in the design's execution. It measures 2 1/4" wide by 1" tall and weighs 12.1 grams. Fully signed with her name, a not so well stamped Eagle mark (should be Eagle 16) as well as with des. no 5160 the brooch dates in the 1950s-60s and is in excellent vintage condition.

Here is a hard-to-find Billiken stick pin! Billiken was patented in 1908 by Florence Pretz, in Kansas City, MO. She designated him “the god of things as they ought to be” – what a fantastic conceit! For the lovers of vintage Mexican silver jewelry who are also lovers of equines, a gorgeous set of Margot de Taxco sterling repousse cufflinks in the shape of a horse head. I find the animal's portrait majestic - the way it holds its head allows its strength and beauty to come out in the best possible way. Each cufflink is 1 1/8" tall by 7/8" wide and the set weighs 10.8 grams. It is fully signed with Margot's name as well as with a badly stamped Eagle mark and des. no 5160...

Description:

A black-glazed Cizhou jar was uniquely decorated on the surface with ribbed lines.
It was a characteristic type of jars of Cizhou wares.
More uniquely, there are Chinese characters "Chang" which most likely as Chinese last names were inscribed on both loops.
They were finished by ribbed techniques.
Accordingly of the names, the jar was believed a custom-made ware by noble people.
It was a more valuable piece then.

Nailed head, classic 1930's styling, all original leather. This is the type of club chairs that are often copied, but seldom do they capture the patina and charm of the real thing. Good overall condition for the age. Dimensions: 32"L x 33"W x 34"H x 23" seat depth, 17" seat width

A spectacular set of bira-bira-kanzashi hair pins in the form of cranes among blossoming plum and pine formed of silver which come enclosed in a custom made silk-lined wooden box. Two are 13 inches (33 cm) long, the other is 9 inches (23 cm) long and all are in fine condition. According to a label inside the box they are from Akita City in Northern Japan, sold by Takeyaso Hon-ten. The box is 15 x 17 x 5 inches (38 x 43 x 13 cm). I do have more images if someone is interested.

An interesting mask with European features. Dayak, Borneo, early 20th century. H. 23 cm, W. 31 cm. H. including stand 38 cm. This mask and the rest of the collection Da Silva was auctioned at Christie's Amsterdam in 2001. Catalogue is included.

This is design 5580A by Margot de Taxco. It is an excellent example of how Margot worked her designs into more function than any other Maestro of the Spratling Era. The drop unhooks and turns into a brooch that is 1.75 in. long. The links have heft and dimension as they are .25 x.25in. boxed shape repousse with hand made bead ornamentation. The weight is a generous 50 grams of repousse. The wearable length is about 16in. with a curve at the drop that makes it hard to be exact...

Bordeaux Arche Lounge French Club Chairs. This is a sumptuous, Rich Dark Chocolate pair of chairs with all original leather. They are in excellent shape overall, there are some wrinkles here and there but their styling and presence lends itself to a multitude of interiors. With their graceful, clean lines they measure 35"deep, 34"wide, 30"high, with a seat depth of 22" and a seat width of 19"
