A signature design for Margot de Taxco, the koi silver and amethyst clamper bracelet is a must-have for the dedicated collector and the lover of things beautiful alike. Executed in dramatic repoussage that looks more like sculpting because of its depth and the thick silver sheet used to craft it, Margot's original is far above and beyond all contemporary emulations be they signed by a known maker or anonymous. Among Gerardo Lopez's most collected clamper designs, I love to refer to this specific creation as his "flames" bracelet because of the way the repousse rises in vivacious twists and twirls. This is indeed an impressive piece - like most of Lopez's clampers are - but not overwhelmingly involved and a sheer pleasure to wear. Its patina is warm and its hinge is tight as if it has been treated very gently throughout its long life...

A very traditional pair of diamond and pearl earrings from the 1960’s is set in 14Kt yellow gold with a European leaver backs. These earrings can be worn dressy for occasions or sporty with jeans or basically all the time. The well matched high luster cultured pearls measure 6.8 millimeters and the approximate total weight of the two full cut diamonds is 0.10Ct.

This large pottery bowl, or cooking pot, was part of a large collection of artifacts collected from the region of the Sepik River, Papau New Guinea in the 1970's. Most of the collection comprised wooden artifacts, but there were also some much rarer pottery items that we were able to acquire...

One of Margot de Taxco’s most romantic, delicately elegant yet still eye-catching and beautifully made necklaces, the “foliate bow” is characterized by generous micro-beading accented by just the right touch of oxidation. This handmade pair of Tibetan boots was typically used by the Tibetan Minority groups for centuries. Each regional Tibetan group used its own distinct colored thread design pattern. Monks and officials also could be recognized by the thread design of their boots. These were a "commoners" boot and judging by their size, they were used by a young teenager. I suspect that they were only worn once or twice and they are in wonderful condition. Heel to toe they measure 9" and stand 12" high.

A very stylish 1960-s period 14Kt white gold sapphire and diamond ring centered by a 9.2 X 6.7 millimeter 1.76Ct oval natural sapphire with excellent quality and great color. The center sapphire is flanked on either side by a brilliant cut diamond, which gives the ring an elegant tailored appearance. The approximate total weight of the two high quality diamonds is 0.45Ct.

Based on Margot de Taxco's and the Los Castillo's "Koi Fish" parures, a repousse by-pass ring from the 1950s-60s made by one of Taxco's still unidentified maestros. I admire these miniature masterpieces - they mimic the clamper bracelets of their respective designs yet with the small size, pose a real challenge to the silversmith who has to reproduce amazing detail in such small proportions. The ring here is currently a comfortable size 7.75 but can be adjusted upwards...

The 26 old-mine diamonds are bead-set in a 14Kt white gold 3 millimeter wide eternity band. The size of the band is 7 ¼ and the approximate total weight of all the diamonds is 0.85Ct.

Classic 1960's large 14Kt yellow gold cultured pearl and diamond heart shaped charm / pendant / locket, decorated by 32 cultured pearls and a small diamond. The locket measures 1 7/16" in width and 1 19/16" in height.

Beautiful sterling Mid-Century Modern design bracelet designed by Bent Gabrielsen for Georg Jensen Denmark. The matching necklace is featured on page 154 of Janet Drucker's book GEORG JENSEN A TRADITION OF SPLENDID SILVER. The bracelet measures 7 1/4" end to end and is 7/8" wide. It is in fine original condition and signed and numbered as shown. Fabulous design.

In my opinion one of the most talented Taxco maestros, Felipe Martinez worked with Hubert Harmon for a brief period in the 1940s (see Hougart, Little Book of Mexican silver, p. 105) and created some of the most amazing jewelry in Taxco's heyday. And even though I am always impressed by the quality of the silver-work, it is mostly the lapidary work that elevates his "Piedra y Plata" creations to the level of sublime perfection...

This wonderfully crafted piece of jewelry is in great condition and made of 18Kt gold, and set with three full-cut diamonds (approx. total weight of 0.40Ct) four round rubies, three round emeralds and three round sapphires. The brooch is 3.5" long and 1" wide at the widest.

An iconic design for Salvador Teran - and possibly one of my absolute favorite designs in Mexican silver ever - this is a pair of "Dancers" earrings. Teran's signature abstraction is clearly evident here as is the innovative way he used the "shadowbox" technique. Measuring 1 1/16" by 7/8" the earrings weigh 14.8 grams and are in excellent vintage condition with fantastic patina and their oxidation in very good shape...

Today I am listing the Antonio Pineda chain and toggle bracelet. The length is 8.75in. and a depth of 7/8th in. The depth takes up some of the wearable length and it is a comfortable 7in. Properly hallmarked and very difficult to get all the marks in the pictures. The crown is visible and please request more photos if needed. I believe the stones at the ends of the toggle are Chrysoprase. The bracelet is solid and has a weight of 121 grams of heft.

A remarkable sterling and 5 row saw tooth bezel set turquoise bracelet by Carmello "Pat" Patania who was the brother of Frank Patania Sr. It measures 6 3/4" around in the inside plus a 1" opening and is 1 1/4" wide. It weighs 98 grams and is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones. The stones are actually a deeper blue and green than the camera captures. Signed as shown. This is a gorgeous bracelet.

I am very partial to Margot's enamel work, especially her pieces with warm, earthy colors. The bracelet here is one of my favorite designs - round, concave links enameled in brown, taupe, black and white with silver polka dots showing through in an almost yin and yang motif. Perfect for every season but just ideal for fall and winter! In the next to last photo you can see it with the matching earrings that are also available in my inventory...

Demanding and difficult, onix negro (black onyx) is a technique by which the classic art of stone inlay is reversed; instead of setting stone within a silver frame, it is now silver shapes that are placed in a flat piece of black onyx. Devised by the Los Castillo at the beginning of the 1950s, onix negro was practiced by a few other maestros as well with results that are definitely different and can be quite impressive...

A great vintage clock by Ferro & Lazzarini (est 1947) of Murano, Italy. Clear glass with gold foil inclusions (Cordonato Oro). Clock is quartz, and a new battery has been recently installed, a new battery will be provided to buyer. Measures 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter and glass is 1 inch (2.54 cm) thick. Vintage assembled set of Antonio Pineda bracelets in a mod, minimalist design that features deeply carved semi-spheres out of each bangle's perimeter, with the empty areas oxidized to add drama to an otherwise simple form. The primary designer for Rancho Alegre, Miguel Martinez is a maestro whose work I have come to value for its imaginative design, superb quality and extremely careful finishing. Monumental both in terms of its dimensions but also due to its weight, the cuff at hand is heavy, with thick overlay and oxidation that accentuates its architecturality. A Napco Japan figural anthropomorphic mustard salt pepper cruet set 1950s 1960s. This decorative and whimsical set consists of the teapot shaped 3 piece mustard pot (lid, spoon and base), the apple or peach shaped salt shaker and the cup or creamer shaped pepper shaker. Of reddish wood with fine grain, this Maori Wahaika Patu measures 15 1/4" long and roughly 5 1/8" wide. Large sculptural sterling silver belt buckle designed and signed circa 1960 by Taxco, Mexico silver Maestro designer Antonio Pineda. This 2 piece buckle measures 5 1/2" across X 2 1/2". The detailed design depicts a hunting scene with applied raised hunter and an animal figures. 145 grams, 5.01 oz. Beautiful vintage condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Blown green glass vase with extreme pencil neck and bulbous base with a clear foot, all in the satinato finish characteristic of Carlo Moretti.
