This necklace is such a pleasure to wear! It drapes very nicely around the neck, measuring 15-1/2” long, with a maximum of ½” in width. It is marked "DANECRAFT STERLING RFG US PAT OFF" and weighs 36.8g. In excellent condition, and we believe it was made between 1940 and 1950. The flowers are lotuses (which are a type of water lily). Iconic hand wrought sterling silver "Old Maguey" necklace designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-86). Necklace has a wearable length of up to 19 inches. Center portion measures 7" across & 1 3/4" high at widest point. Weight 122 grams, 4.3 oz. Beautiful condition with no issues. Fully hallmarked on the clasp TAXCO 940 HA dating the piece to 1940-48.
