A shallow dish, heavily potted, covered in a beautiful celadon glaze producing the crackles of the Geyao type glaze. The recessed base is glazed while the foot rim is dressed with an iron brown wash. A small fan painting by an anonymous painter of the Tosa School in ink, colors and gold on paper. Mounted on goldfleck paper. Depicting a battle scene of the "Tale of the Heike", an epic account of the struggle between the Taira and Minamoto clans for control of Japan at the end of the 12th century. This fan painting probably belongs to the same set of illustrations of the "Heike Monogatari" in the Museum of Asian Art in Berlin. Condition: slightly browned, some pigments rubbed...

A sansai-glazed Tang Dynasty pottery tripod censer. Most sansai-glazed pottery include green and amber glazes - this vessel is glazed in blue and amber glazes. Blue sansai-glazed pottery is very rare since the blue color was made from cobalt imported from the Middle East and was very expensive at the time. Blue cobalt glazed sancai pieces go for much higher prices because of the preciousness of the ingredient and how scarcely it was used...
Handle with braided silver wire, pierced and partially gilded pommel cover. Straight, single edged steel blade. The scabbard has a wooden core encased in a silver sheathing, decorated with foliage, scrolls and shou characters. Condition: Blade with some rust. Dimensions: Total length is 34.9 cm, 4.2 cm wide. The blade is 24,5 cm long and 2.8 cm wide. Weight: 422 gram.
This Dong festival hat is wonderfully embroidered with wrapped thread technique. It is further embellished with gold and silver bits edging the fabric design. At the back is the traditional silver ornament of butterfly and hanging bells to keep evil spirit away
Lovely lobed dishes with a creamy white glaze. Diameter 11,2 cm. Very good condition, one of the dishes with some light brown stains, due to its long time in the soil. Song Dynasty (960-1279).

A beautifully and finely enamelled turquoise ground "famillie-rose" bowl. It has an alternate motive of a bat flying on top of a iron red Shou character followed by a lotus flower surrounded by meandering foliate and branching leaf. The base has four iron red Chien Lung (1736-1796) period character mark. This bowl is an early 20th century export piece for the South-East Asian market.
Minor firing faults and pinholes. No sign of cracks or chips...
