An iron vase intentional rust and damascened silver of a Flat-fish on one side, the other au-natural by Sano Hiroshi exhibited at the 48th Kofukai Tenrankai Exhibition in 1962 and enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Karai (flat-fish). It is 53.5 cm (21 inches) wide, 37 cm (14-1/2 inches) tall and in fine condition.
Sano Hiroshi was born in Jūshiyama, Aichi prefecture in 1930, and graduated the Nagoya Municipal School of Crafts in 1950...

A celadon, crackle glaze inverted rim bowl. The unglazed rim suggesting this had a cover as some examples of this form (sometimes referred to as an alms bowl) did. The shoulder, below the inverted rim, with two double fine line bands flanking relief flower head bosses. Strait lotus leaf motif adorning the side tapering to the foot. A Yaozhou bird feeder was well glazed in yellowish-green tint.
Overly glazed on the surface except the bottom where the grayish-white body clay was revealed, the small vessel was in slender shape and was segregated in eight sections on the surface.
It was preserved in perfect condition when greasy-feel glaze sheen was reflected charmingly.

Here is a sweet little pendant or charm made by Jean-Baptiste-Emile Dropsy, one of the famous French medalists. The design was usually made out of a heavy gold plate, but this one is 18kt rosy gold. Signed by Dropsy on the front, as is usual with French medals, it measures 1/2” in diameter (with the jump ring, 7/8”), and weighs 1.5g.
