One of the most interesting pieces by Los Castillo I have ever encountered - and in my experience a rarely surfacing cuff at that - I am thrilled to be presenting this bracelet here. Fusing copper and sterling silver, the cuff is a double-wide version of the taller's popular des. no 909. Yet in our case, the copper part makes for the repoussage-d face and is then seamlessly applied on the sterling background...

Signed, authentic Matilde Poulat earrings that bear the early hallmark of cursive plaque Matl. The design focus is the S motif that is found somewhere and someplace in most of her designs. Length is 2in. long x 1.25in. wide. There is no damage. These were changed to pierced but the owner was quite smart and kept the original backs with the set so there is no perceived value lost. The stones are warmed turquoise and are beautifully set.

An example of hallmarked Mexico Silver which was made very early in Mexico City. The puffy repousse is gorgeous on this pectoral and is expertly carved. The small S links form the chain and are quite elegant. The stone in the center is 1in. across being amethyst and has no chips or damage. With the length being approximately 16in. long and the drop is 3.5in. across by 2.5in. tall you can see that this is a very nice size to wear anywhere...

Taxco 980 Mexican Silver necklace with an Amethyst center ball of .75in. in diameter spark off this heavy 90 gram beauty. The chain is 1in. and the drop measures 2.25 in diameter and the same tall. This is an example of some of the first artists to come to Taxco to thrive in it's artistic environment. The 980 Taxco mark has always meant quality work and this is no exception with no damage or chips to the stone and no dents to the silver...

Fantastic sense of movement, great patina and two gorgeous pearls make this set of Antonio earrings immediately attract the eye! I love the pinwheel design - there is something festive and also "frenetic" about it that is, however, elegantly moderated with the classy touch of the pearls. The earrings are just above 1 1/4" in diameter and the set weighs 10.2 grams. It is signed with Antonio's crown mark though partial due to lack of space and an equally partial Eagle assay mark...

You don't have to be a warrior princess to wear this Sigi cuff yet you do need a certain sense of daring, don't you think? This is one of those pieces that illustrate in the best possible way Sigi's ability to seek out ancient motifs and forms and convey them anew through the eye of the modernist artist. The cuff fits perfectly around the wrist and the abstract overlay stands out against the oxidized background even though it has itself acquired a wonderful patina over the years...

William Spratling's largest chain design is a first phase hallmark and one inch tall. Being 8in. long it is suitable for a man or a woman. The fit is like a bangle for a woman and the hook clasp does takes up some of the wearable length. There is a curve/groove running down it's center with great dimension which is accentuated with the solid silver being 7mm thick. The color is beautiful with almost pure silver of at least 980 silver weighing 130 grams. You will get noticed with this chain as it...

Another one of my Taller Taxco treasures, this necklace, obviously based on Salvador Teran's design, came to me with a matching bracelet (by yet a different maker) which I will be presenting in the next few days. An intriguing taller, its relationship (or lack thereof?) to Teran still remains cloudy yet its emulations of Salvador's jewelry are of the highest quality and craftsmanship. The choker at hand, a reinterpretation of a pre-Colombian motif within the context of the mid-20th c. is simply ...

Difficult to find, especially with its hourglass charm still attached to it, one of Margot's most sought-after, avidly collected, time-themed bracelets. I love the fleshiness of the Roman numerals and the architectural quality of the hourglass charm itself - please not the "beading" that represents the sand in it. The amethyst comma necklace is one of the most recognizable of Antonio Pineda's works of art. The silver is 970 and silky to the hand. There are no cracks or chips to the stones and no damage or flaws to the silver. The most important thing to look for is how the silver comes up and forms a wall on each link at edges. Most are uneven and without a sharp edge. The length is 16in. long,.75in. tall and it weighs in at 102.5 grams heavy. There is a gorgeous patina to the swirls but if you like this ...

This is an exceptional work of art by H. Santana. The silver is thick and weighs 103 grams. The drop has 3 panels of 2.5in. x 2.75in. and displays a large presence. With the chain being exceptionally long of 18 inches then plus the length of the drop, you have enough to make it a custom fit. I am listing a cut work Santana obsidian bracelet that is a match for the necklace. The cut work is quite endearing with the hearts and scrolls of swirls.
