A slight deviation from the norm, here is a scroll depicting the character Tsubo by Shigaraki artist Koie Ryoji in liquid strokes, the outer lines dissipating into the paper canvas. Ink on paper in a dark cloth border and unusual metal glazed ceramic rollers. It measures 19 1/2 by 42 inches (49, 5 x 107 cm) and is in fine condition.

The inside of the cup is lined with smooth dark glaze which gleams gold along the rim, while the glistening white outside has been carved away, every divot and ridge a tactile pleasure. It comes enclosed in a wooden box titled Kanka (Quiet, as in: the silent elegance of a flower in bloom). This is everything we could hope for in a bowl by this esteemed artist, Kakurezaki Ryuichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuro Chawan . In excellent condition in original signed box. This is a great ovoid bowl with thick rolled lip and as of yet, I have not deciphered the signature and the piece is priced accordingly.

One of the best pieces I have ever seen by this revolutionary artist, a dark flask covered in rivulets of flowing ash by Kakurezaki Ryuichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kuro Tokkuri.  Two shell shapes where it was propped in the kiln stare out like eyes on some ethnic mask from the back side, the front awash in a molten ash, tendrils of which wrap around like many fingers.  It is breathtaking, and I am already jealous of the lucky soul who will get to keep it.

A wonderful deep dark bowl perfect for trapping the heat and aroma of tea in winter by Tsujimura Shiro enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Hikidashi-Kuro Chawan. The feeling is like Raku, with a thin glaze over rough clay affecting hi-iro colors within the glazing. This is a great example of the diverse style of this artist who is known for radical textures and natural effects. It perfectly displays another aspect of his personality, a quieter side of the man found one on one.
