This is an exceedingly rare calligraphy on hand-made paper by famous Kyoto artist Tokuriki Tomikichiro. He was best known for his prints, but was originally trained as a painter. It is delicately brushed on Japanese hand made paper (24.2 cm x 21 cm), a bit smaller than shikishi size, and much thinner. Two edges are deckled. It is inscribed “Close Friend” (知音).
