A 30 cm (1 foot) square cube in oxidized lunar color by Hashimoto Tomonari enclosed in the original signed wooden box. By volume this seems in person much larger than it actually is. Hashimoto Tomonari was born the son of a sculptor and has felt comfortable with the processes of creation since childhood. Generous Oribe style covered jar with impressed decoration around the body of the pot. Please note, the lid was fired on a wad that was later ground off resulting in the area you see on the bottom of the lid, it is not sharp and smooth to the touch.

This sake bottle is a very rare piece among Sugimoto's works.
Ordinary, shigaraki pieces are fired in the anagama fire woods kiln, however this pieces is carved and colored with pigment, And fired in the kiln with charcoal. The pattern is called "shikishi kasane" a pair of square piece of fancy papers. It's a happy theme. The white grains are feldspar included in shigaraki clay. Special price.
