An elegant gilt sterling silver oval brooch by Kirk in the "Repousse" pattern. Kirk made a range of jewelry in this pattern but only a few were then gilt. With the addition of a bail to the back, this pin would make a very striking vertical pendant. The back is stamped with Kirk's hallmark from the 1932-61 period.

This Antonio Pineda pin is a superb early creation, with a repoussé silver upper segment and a large amethyst cabochon dangle. The recesses are oxidized giving a great deal of depth.

I have not seen this design before and believe it to be quite rare.

Measures 2 3/8" wide, 2" tall.

It's been a while since I presented a piece by Gerardo Lopez but he is one of my favorite Taxco maestros, a talented silversmith and designer who excelled in the art of repoussage. I believe Lopez was at his best when he created pectoral necklaces and clamper bracelets and it is an exquisite example of the latter form that I am showing here. Designed in the pre-Columbian style, this sterling silver bracelet is composed of curved openwork panels connected with small pins. It bears the mark of J.N. Jacopo, for the Jacopo brothers of Mexico City and Taxco; it also bears the eagle mark with the number 3. The bracelet has a nice, hefty feel and is of good quality. This lovely ring is adjustable in size. Its classic Taxco Mexico design is topped off with an onyx bezel-set stone in the center. It is marked TAXCO MEXICO 925 in a circle with the artist's initials in the middle APF. The other mark is the "spread eagle" assay with the number 3 in the middle. This great ring is excellent condition.
