This very Victorian grooming chatelaine is from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements: a tweezers, one for cleaning nails, and an ear-cleaning device. (We saw a similar chatelaine on eBay, and the ear-cleaning implement was advertised as a device for opium users, but we don’t think so! However, as non-opium users, we could be wrong ….) It is unmarked but tests positive for silver, and with a patina consistent with age...

Hand-hammered silver reminiscent of the Arts and Crafts movement and a jade bead that brings to mind ancient Aztec and Maya jewelry combine in this sterling silver ring by the Los Castillo. Gorgeous period art nouveau sheath with nude woman playing the harp sitting in the ocean waves with birds flying above by Unger Brothers, Newark, c.1905. The sheath probably held and can hold a comb, nail file, etc. and measures 3 7/8" long by 13/16" wide and the opening is 1/8" thick(so item should be a bit thinner) by 3/4" long. The design goes all the way around including the narrow edges. It is signed "UB STERLING 925 FINE UB" and is in very good condition...

A vintage long pendant with a thick hammered sterling horseshoe and an art glass or purple striated stone jewel by Anna Greta Eker for Norway Designs Studio Plus.

The pendant measures 2 1/2" long and 1 5/8" across. Each side of the attached chain measures 11 1/2" long for a total of 24". Has a spring clasp marked sterling that closes securely. Marked with the stylized ND for Norway Designs Plus Studio, Sterling, 925S, and Norway...

Handmade vintage pendant necklace in sterling with a very large smoky cabochon stone. The stone is possibly a smoky quartz; I have not had it checked by a gemologist. Circa 1960. Not marked but tests positive for sterling silver. This piece has a great brutalist look, with oblong links, each with a turned up tip, and cut and soldered elements in the center pendant. The pattern goes all the way around the bangle and appears to be random, giving it a quirky yet sophisticated look. It is marked sterling and dates around 1970 or earlier. Stunning Los Castillo "doorknocker" dangle earrings, these beauties are breath-taking and beguilingly curvaceous. I love this design and it has been a long time since I had a similar set. Sensual curves, sculptural teardrops, discrete little scrolls and confident, masterful repoussage - there is nothing about the pair that was not paid attention to.
