A carefully crafted copy of one of Hubert Harmon's Mexican designs, this fabulous sterling silver and amethyst belt buckle is anonymous yet, as quite often is the case, the lack of a signature does not affect the piece's quality and beauty. Based on the workmanship I suspect this may be a Casa Maya example. Casa Maya issued many of Harmon's designs in brass primarily yet they did make them in sterling as well and quite often pieces in their parures went out in the marked without full hallmarks...

Marked with script Hans Hansen, Denmark, 285 and 925S. Hook clasp holds securely. Weighs 53 gr.

In fine condition with some surface scratches and areas of tarnish...

A vintage hand wrought studio sterling silver necklace with a stone drop. Features curved links graduating in size culminating in a greenish brown mottled stone pendant. Measures approximately 19" long. Pendant measures 1 3/4" long and 1 1/4" across. Interesting way that the silver wraps around the stone to hold it in place. Clever hook closure that holds securely. The stone has a hairline mark which actually shows more in the photo than in person. The stone is stable and does not move...

This plique a jour pendant is centered with an oval white opal and accented with eight colorless brilliants. The dropper is a fresh water pearl. The translucent enamel is an unusual and lovely blue in color. Plique a jour, that unusual, difficult, and beautiful technique, dates from the 15th century. It was used by Cellini, then revived in the late 1800s in France. The metal frame in this lovely piece is 900 silver, suggesting that the piece is most likely German or Austrian in origin...

Felipe Martinez opened his shop, "Piedra Y Plata" in 1950. A former sculptor who had worked with Hubert Harmon in the 1940's, Martinez was known for his work with beautiful stones which melded seamlessly into his silver designs. This necklace features chrysocolla stones with a trapezoidal shape which alternate with concave silver panels in front. Stones and silver panels graduate in size, with the upper sides of the necklace all silver. Closure is a tight and secure tongue in box, with a safet...
