A handsome late Victorian stick pin featuring a reverse-carved crystal depicting a bulldog. Essex crystals, especially those showing dogs and sporting subjects, were very popular during the last quarter of the 19th century. Intricate and unusual knot ring from Birmingham, England hallmarked for 1908. The gold-work is woven, twisted, knotted, and partly engraved. The front of the ring measures approximately 12.5 mm at its widest. The detail stretches approximately 1" across the front of the ring. It is currently a size 7.5.
