This is a peaceful scene, most likely of the Lobster Cove near Annisquam and Gloucester, MA, but I see there is also a Lobster Cove in Maine. Regardless of the exact location, this is a classic scene of New England, captured by a talented artist...

A whimsical, colorful painting of a cat, signed at lower right with initials "C.L" and dated there 1980. The work is on canvas, 21" by 25 1/4" framed. The unknown artist was certainly talented. Further research could possibly determine his/her identity. The painting is in very good vintage condition. There is a bit of light soiling here and there but no punctures or other issues.

Peonies and Delphiniums’ by Eva Wedlow, circa 1920’s, signed lower left, oil on panel, 26.5” x 31”. Typed paper stapled to the reverse of the work reads “x515 Original English oil on panel - a floral still life of iris, peonies and delphiniums By Eva Wedlow”. A portrait of an elderly man is on the reverse of the panel. Eva Wedlow was a ‘flower society painter’ of the 1920’s, highly considered by aristocrats at the time.

A work of Surrealism, 22" by 26", unframed, the imagery a strange landscape in blues, two bare trees at right center, and an odd shaped biomorphically-inspired form (part looks like an index finger complete with nail) at left foreground, completing the strange composition. This is a beautiful work by a well listed painter who was born in Russia and spent much time in the Pittsburgh area, as well as New York, before settling in Southern California later in life. Shulgold's biography tells of stints as a watchmaker and worker in a bottling plant, before yielding to the desire to create art...

Oil on canvasboard panel painting of a scene in the French Quarter of New Orleans, 19" by 8" (24 1/4" by 12 1/2" framed), signed at lower right with what appears as "Dettick" or "Derrick". This work was likely created for the lively tourist scene in the French Quarter in the 1960's or early 1970's. It has been suggested that the artist is one "Dick Nick", who has been an active participant in the New Orleans Jackson Square art scene from the 1960's. Condition is excellent.

A soothing contemporary oil on canvas painting of a mule-drawn cart and its rider on a dirt track in the tropical forest, 19 1/2" by 27 1/2", unframed, signed at lower right by artist Fernando Danni or "Darni". I do not see a listing for this name but the artist displays here a skilled impressionist technique. Note the purple, and yellow, blooming trees at right and the fine handling of light and shadow. Condition is excellent.
