This is a large 20" by 29" watercolor (32 1/2" by 40 1/2" framed) of a 1940's style wood motorboat, the "Aurora" of Glass Island, on a lake or inlet, a number of period figures enjoying the ride, the Canadian Maple Leaf flag at the stern, signed at lower right and dated there Oct. 1985 by the noted Maine-born artist BILL JEWELL (1954-)...

Classic watercolor work by Florida's well-listed impressionist artist, EMMETT FRITZ (1917-1995), the 6 3/4" by 9 1/2" work (14" by 16 3/4" framed) a view down one of the streets in the historic downtown area of St. Augustine on Florida's northeast coast. The piece is in fresh, clean condition with no issues. The pink, blue and green colors in this particular example are very nice. Written on the backing is "Saint Augustine 1982/Went with Evelyn Stuart, Dolly Balker"...

Watercolor on paper, 16 1/4" by 16 1/4" inside the mat (and 27 1/4" by 27 1/4" as framed), signed at lower right by listed, noted Southern California watercolor artist DON FAY. This is a colorful, beautifully executed work, which previously sold for $2000 at a John Moran auction (THIS EXACT PIECE DID). Condition is excellent with vibrant colors and no foxing/fading. The frame is functional and all in all the piece is ready for the wall...

Very detailed, complex, good-sized (21" by 15 3/4", 29" by 23 1/4" as framed) ink and watercolor whimsical drawing of a cartoonish scene including Victorian type house, car, old lady pushing shopping cart, cat, bird, dog, -----well, let's say it's hard to describe....just see the images yourself! At first glance this looks like a print or reproduction, but it is absolutely ORIGINAL ART. Carl Muecke is a veteran of political satire expressed in art, going back to his days at UC Berkeley...

This is a poetic Asian work, in grayish blues and white, the subject the cone of Mt. Fuji above a cloud deck. The painting measures 14 1/4" by 17" inside the overmat (21 1/2" by 24" as simply framed). The signature at lower left reads Kamemaru and the seal "Kame". I cannot see that this corresponds to a listed artist. The work is in the style of classic Japanese watercolor landscape painting, and is perhaps also inspired by the works of the modern master Yokoyama Taikan...

The watercolor is unsigned, 6" by 8 1/2", 10" by 13" as simply framed, the scene tall forest trees and distant mountains; there is either a stream or pathway in the foreground. I'd think it has some age, but probably not before about 1970. The artist was talented, and this will decorate a small wall nicely.

Watercolor and gouache painting of a ship or boat on roiling, stormy seas, circa 1970's, signed at lower left by artist "Andro", whose worn business card remains affixed to the backing. The work measures 23 1/2" x 17" and 25 1/2" by 19" as framed. The apparent zip code on the business card, 91203, I believe, is Glendale, California. The work is loose in the framing, slipping around. Frame is worn and will likely need to be replaced.

THREE Asian (Chinese, I think, but possibly Korean) watercolor on silk paintings, each 9 1/2" by 11 3/4" (14 1/2" by 18 1/2" in gold framing), contemporary/late 20th century, featuring classic Asian landscapes of dramatic hills and tea houses and pines, making for a very decorative trio for your Asian-inspired interior. A few slight imperfections are present in the frames, but they are very minor. The drawings are in excellent condition.

This is a rather typical work of the noted Bermudian artist ALFRED BIRDSEY (1912-1996), the full sheet affixed to a board measuring 18" by 23 1/2". Birdsey was a familiar figure in Bermuda for decades, a prolific artist, the works of whom traveled home with tourists to the island. This would account for the wide distribution of his distinctive work. Today his daughter continues the family tradition, with similar looking paintings being sold to visitors...

A contemporary watercolor painting of banana tree or giant bird of paradise, in harmonious green, yellow, violet and brown-red colors, 22" by 19" (29 3/4" by 25 3/4" in blond wood frame), signed at lower right corner by artist Elizabeth Schleich, or Schleichner or similar, followed by "PTL" (meaning unknown). The work is in excellent condition, the colors rich. The artist displays a keen sense of color and some passages in the composition appear almost cubistic...

Watercolor on paper of Royal Street (Rue Royale), a principal street in the French Quarter of New Orleans,14 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the mat and 22 1/4 by 18 1/4" as framed, signed somewhat obscurely at lower right (and harder to see by virtue of the non-glare glass) by the listed New Orleans artist TOM LANE (1916-1991). On the mat below is "Rue Royale" and "New Orleans '77"...

Steck", measuring 13 5/8" by 19 1/4" inside the mat, and 21" by 27" as framed. On the reverse framing paper is written in black marker "Foyer"/Florence W. Steck/(215)789-0966". **PAIR** of watercolors on paper of African American musicians in the famous New Orleans French Quarter jazz spot known as Preservation Hall. Each painting is on a sheet of heavy watercolor paper measuring 15" by 11" (21 1/2" by 16 1/2" as framed), both signed but I am unable to decipher the signature----looks something like "Tortelli" but that is a wild guess. These are possibly paintings for the tourist trade but there is a monumentality to the work that goes beyond tourist art...

Watercolor on paper, 10" by 14" (15" by 19" as framed), signed at lower left with the distinctive signature of California Scene artist JAKE LEE. This is an image of a vintage old house framed by mature trees, a few suggested figures in the foreground. Jake Lee's works are increasingly sought after by collectors in the wake of his relatively recent passing. This is a clean example in excellent condition. See the net for more images of his paintings, which include California landscapes, as wel...

Contemporary or late 20th century watercolor painting of flowering cacti, 14" by 19 1/4" (22" by 28 1/2" in black frame) signed at lower right by artist Anita Zirkle. I do not see biographical information on the artist but she has excelled here, showing her full talent as she creates a close-up (think Georgia O'Keeffe) of yellow flowers on beavertail or similar cacti. Look at the pistils of the blossom---amazing technique by the artist. Condition is excellent. Black frame shows some wear.
