A finely detailed 1844 watercolor painting of an extensive German landscape, with fascinating details including numerous tiny figures fishing and admiring the river and its cascades, a mountaintop castle, church, and countless trees. The sheet measures 15" by 19", the drawing inside squared lines 11 1/4" by 16 3/4". In the lower margin is a lot of writing, some of it tiny. A PAIR of black and white photos of Chinese families, taken no doubt in China, circa early 20th century. The photos, which measure 11" by 14 1/4" (16" by 20 1/2" in black metal strip frames behind plexi) are later 20th century reprints of the originals. The images provide a fascinating look at the people of China in the early years of the century.

An American impressionist coastal seascape painting on the rough side of a Masonite panel, 12" by 16" (19" by 22 1/2" in quality gold frame), signed at lower right by artist Erna Gruenbaum. Oddly, considering the quality, there is no listing of an artist by this name. The painting probably dates to the 1950's or thereabouts. The frame has very light wear but retains its value.

PAIR of watercolor paintings of southern Italian street scenes, each 14" by 8 1/2" (17" by 11 1/2" as identically framed in early 20th century frames).
