Ink on paper laid on board, 6 1/4" by 4 1/4" (the drawing itself), signed at lower right J.C.F.M. and signed again on reverse of the card "J.C.F. Murray '08" and titled "Volendam". I don't see a listing for this name, if I'm reading it correctly, but the drawing is obviously by a trained hand. Note the details of the wooden shoes on both figures, the traditional bonnet on the lady. Volendam is a small town north of Amsterdam and is known for its traditional dress and traditions...

THOMAS FLUHARTY illustration on marker board of Huey Lewis signed and dated 1985 11" X 13" we contacted the artist to confirm the authenticity and he kindly did so. This was a snippet from his email. Hey! Makes me chuckle. That drawing was done when I was a young artist in NYC at Gem Studio.

A charming little drawing, exceptionally well-traveled, and with a story to tell: pencil on paper, 6 1/2" by 9 3/4" inside the present mat opening, 12 1/2" by 15 3/8" as framed, not signed, but with inscription "Cesanne Aug. 13/74" at lower right, and "copper buckets" at lower left. And, on the backing, written in a modern hand: "Purchased at Kingston, Jamaica Municipal Art Museum/The date is 1874--purchased previous to 1974. TWO pen and ink drawings, identical size and frames, 9 7/8" by 7 5/8", one titled "Down the Gulch" and the other "Slave Quarters, Glen Haven, Colo.", each signed "A.C." and one dated 1936. I don't know who "A.C." might be/have been, but, if you collect Colorado art, you might like this pair of drawings of a mountain road and a mountain cabin. You might wish to reframe them. If anyone knows who the artist is, please do let me know.

Early 19th century Swiss drawing titled on reverse "paysanne", 7" by 5 1/2" (12 1/4" by 10 1/2" as framed), unsigned. This is a fine drawing by a talented hand. I imagine that the artist would be listed were it signed. Condition is excellent. It is taped at top only to the underlying matting materials.

This is a fine pencil drawing of a Victorian style wood home, 16" by 11 1/2" (24 3/4" by 18 3/4" framed), signed at lower right "David" and dated there '73. One is reminded of Edward Hopper's haunted, lonely dune houses or even the infamous back-lot Bates Motel house from the movie "Psycho" where Anthony Perkins did his thing. Condition is excellent. Found in San Francisco, the city where many treasured gingerbread houses of Victorian times still stand.
