An impressive oil on canvas laid on panel landscape painting, 31 1/2" by 48 1/2" in thin strip framing, signed at lower left and dated 1993 by the noted Indian environmentalist, wildlife photographer, naturalist and writer-poet, MADHAVIAH KRISHNAN (1912-1993). THE RED SCARF By American Artist Robert J Phillips 1946- 26x22” A nativeNew Jersey artist born 1946, active in the United States and Europe.

A contemporary Thai or otherwise Southeast Asian painting of traditional thatched houses by the water, palms, banana trees, water buffalo and blooming lilies completing the scene. Oil on canvas 13 1/2" by 20", 17" by 23" in attractive, complementary, grayish, distressed-look wood framing. Condition is excellent. The work is signed at lower left with what appears as "Song Suk".

A contemporary oil on canvasboard painting, 16" by 20", 19 1/2" by 23 1/2" as framed, the subject an intimate little harbor no doubt in coastal Maine, with a lobsterman's shack and traps stacked on the deck, and his trap-identifying floats hanging on the side of the structure. The talented amateur artist "Paula" signed at lower right and dated the work '98. The work has accumulated a little light soiling and two small abraded areas, as shown.

A fine example of the American Master Joe Leatherwood, HARVEST TIME,is a work that culminated the skills of the artist from memory as a child on the family farm in the Southern United States. The work comes framed and is signed below the figure on the right J.L. LEATHERWOOD

A colorful Haitian painting on canvas, 17 1/4" by 25 1/4" as framed, signed lower left by artist "Teddy C." or "J. Eddy.C.", the scene a typical coastal village of small colorful dwellings, with small boats offshore and three total figures, one on horseback. There is a small hole about 1/2" square at lower right as shown. It can no doubt be minimized with some tape applied to the reverse side. See other Haitian paintings in my shop.

An antique painting portrait of a beautiful woman oil on canvas by William A. Dollond signed lower left. William Anstey Dolland was a British artist who was born in (1858-1929). Known for his oil and watercolor paintings of female figures in traditional scenes. This early work, done November 1931, while Studying in New York with other ashcan School Artist……. Alfred McNamara was born in Tompkinsville, Staten Island and lived most of his life in Staten Island. He was heavily influenced by John Sloane, Edward Hopper, and others of the Ashcan School in the 1920's and 1930's. During the 1930's, he received his basic art training under Walter Drewes, through a program sponsored by the WPA (Works Projects Administration) at the Brooklyn Museum of Art...

Geoffrey Lamont Holder (August 1, 1930 – October 5, 2014) was a Trinidadian-American actor, dancer, musician, and artist. He was a principal dancer for the Metropolitan Opera Ballet before his film career began in 1957 with an appearance in Carib Gold. In 1973, he played the villainous Baron Samedi in the Bond film Live and Let Die. He also carried out advertising work as the pitchman for 7 Up

This work was exhibited at the 1939 worlds fair in New York. …measuring 40x30 inches….Boyer Gonzales Jr., a noted painter and teacher in Texas was born in Galveston, Texas and raised in family homes in both Galveston and Woodstock, New York. He attended Mercersburg Academy in Pennsylvania and in 1931 graduated with a degree in architecture from the University on Virginia. During the summers while at the university he studied with his father in Woodstock...

A set of EIGHT small paintings on Masonite, the largest as framed 8 1/4" by 6", the smallest 6 3/4" by 5 3/4", all signed at lower right corner by artist "J. (or possibly "S") Parraga". The works date to about the 1960's or early 1970's. The artist had obviously been witness to many bullfights, having studied the matador suit of lights, the decorated barbed banderillas, anatomy of the bull, and sun-washed stands...

Vintage still life of fruit executed in a Cubist style, oil on canvasboard, 16" by 20", (19 1/2" by 23" in black strip frame with liner), signed at upper left with a monogram that looks like "MR". The work is nicely worked by a skilled hand and condition is excellent. Frame shows its age. The piece was framed likely in the 1960's.
