Peter Moran, American, 1842-1914, "Noonday". A finely detailed original etching by Peter Moran, this image measures 7 3/4 x 10 5/8 inches, 1887, state II/III, cat: Wright- 94, with the separate frog remarque lower left, pencil signed, framed. Peter Moran was one of the foremost artists of the American etching revival of the late 19th century. He was known for his images of cows and farm animals, as well as his atmospheric scenes of the American Southwest.

This image identified in the lower border has an image size of 9 3/4X7 7/8 inches. Printed on an early laid type paper, some foxing but overall very fine condition. It has a collectors seal in the lower border, "H de t stat".

A decorative print after a seventeenth century ink drawing by Dutch Golden Age painter GERBRAND VAN DEN EECKHOUT (1621-1674), titled on reverse label "Zeichner vor einem Bauernhause Sitzend" ("Artist Seated in Front of a Farmhouse"). The print measures 5 3/4" by 7 3/4" (15 3/4" by 17" framed). The brownish ink and pebbled paper creates a very convincing piece that could almost be mistaken for an actual old drawing...

The print, executed after a painting by the great French Rococo master Jean-Honore Fragonard, measures 15" by 10 5/8" inside the fine French matting, with gilt border and numerous outlines, that in turn housed in a gold leaf antique frame measuring 22" by 18"...

Signed and numbered 25/35, this unframed limited edition lithograph by Spratling titled MAGUEY was produced in 1931 from his original drawing for his book LITTLE MEXICO. The lithograph measures 16" X 11.5". The landscape image is about 12" X 8". This is one of 7 lithographs we purchased from Weyhe Gallery in NY in 1995. The gallery had a long time relationship with Spratling dating back to his very early days in Taxco. The lithograph is in beautiful condition...
A fine woodcut print on Japan type thin, delicate paper, 8 1/2" by 6 1/2" inside the mat, no frame, signed in pencil at lower right and dated there 1931, a monogram in the printed image at lower left, adn inscribed "To Hal" at lower left, by the well listed artist IGNATZ SAHULA-DYCKE (1900-1982). The dramatic subject is mysterious and difficult to describe: a woman, perhaps somewhat sinister or even possibly Death, comforts a young girl, as a younger boy looks on from the right lower corner...
