This is a restrike of the large folio, popular and well-known lithograph "Winter in the Country---The Old Grist Mill" by Currier and Ives. Measurements inside the mat are 18" by 26 1/4", and the piece as framed is 26 1/2" by 33 1/2". The original 19th century lithograph is in the "Best 50" list, and it inspired many paintings after its publication...

The famous large folio size Currier and Ives lithograph of 1864, "Winter in the Country" (sometimes referred to by its subtitle, "Getting Ice") is a very desirable image, and the original printing is very rare, highly coveted by collectors, and in 2002 with the late George Cohenour of Pennsylvania, Currier expert and publisher of a widely used price guide, that print is likely the most rare in the entire Currier and Ives production history...

This print Z-446B was one of a small number of creations that he put on hard, gold-edged board. Daniel Tretiak wrote that these prints “were printed first on very thin paper, which was then ‘wrapped’ around heavy shikishi board. They are lithographs not done from wood blocks. Done in 1999, this work measures 7.25in x 8.25in, is in excellent condition, and one of an edition of 77.

A circa 1970's or 1980's limited edition lithograph print, numbered at lower left 101/260 and signed at lower right in pencil by the noted twentieth century artist GEORGES CSATO (1910-1983). Csato was born in Hungary. During the war he took refuge in Vienna and Prague along with artists such as Archipenko, Hofer, Kokoschka, and Thiel. In earlier years he painted portraits, sometimes of the famous, including Einstein, Bertrand Russell, and Rachmaninoff...

This is an example of the accomplished lithography of this major European artist, the paintings of whom command well into five figures at auctions in Europe and the USA...

Linocut print, the sheet 10 1/4" by 14", unframed, numbered at lower left 70/100 and pencil signed at lower right and dated there 1971, the "HB" blind stamp nearby, by the important and still highly underrated Swiss-California modernist HANS GUSTAV BURKHARDT (1904-1994). The subject is somewhat uncertain; perhaps a look at a catalogue raisonne of the artist's graphic works would provide the title...

A vintage, 1972 re-issue of the Maurits Cornelius Escher print "Metamorphose" (1939-40), possibly a posthumous or commemorative printing, as its date coincides with the year of Escher's death. The publisher is given at far right margin as G. W. Breughel, and this was printed in Holland. Measurements are an unusual 8 3/4" by 41" in the narrow black metal frame (presently no glass). The work has been laid on foamboard...

A lithograph print in black ink, the scene featuring houses and trees, on a printed page, unsigned, created in 1926 by noted French artist MAURICE VLAMINCK (1876-1958) as an illustration for the book "Le Diable au Corps" by novelist Raymond Radiguet. The image is presently framed to a 6" by 7" mat opening (the sheet with text measures 10" by 9 1/2"). As framed measurements are 13 1/2" by 13 1/2"...

A unique piece that transcends art and entertainment.........a color poster advertising the November 13, 1989 sale of the famous Billy Wilder art collection at Christie's auction house in New York City. At lower right in blue marker, Wilder wrote "For Bianca---a true pearl/Billy Wilder Oct. 89". Wilder of course was the Austrian-born American filmmaker, screenwriter, producer, artist, and journalist whose career spanned more than five decades...

A circa 1920's to 1940's old reprint of the much-loved classic Currier and Ives lithograph "American Winter Scenes", with a horse-drawn sleigh heading towards the snug home at right in which a party appears to be held. The piece measures 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in what I believe is a birdseye maple frame. Condition is very good, vintage condition. The original 19th century lithograph is very expensive; this reasonable alternative will provide the same decorative punch.

This is the 1928 (issue date) work "L'Eglise de Limours", dated and signed 1922 in the plate at lower left, after a painting by French School of Paris master artist MAURICE UTRILLO (1883-1955), with the graphic art assistance of also important master artist Jacques Villon. The work, unframed, and measuring 19 1/2" by 11 1/4" presently, is one of the very collectable "Chalcographie du Louvre" impressions...

Charles Baudelaire de face, etched portrait by Edouard Manet. The French poet was photographed by Félix Nadar in 1862 and the photo was the starting-point for Manet’s portrait. More than one version exists of the etching and this is number III. Signed in the plate Peint et Gravé par Manet 1865, and Imp. A. Salmon (printer´s name). On creme coloured wove paper, size of plate "3 ½ / 9.4 cm x "3 ¼ / 8.2 cm. The partly silvered frame measuring "7 / 18 cm x "7 / 18 cm. Condition: fine.

Measuring 15 1/2" by 9 1/2" framed, this was executed by a talented and increasingly sought after artist who is most closely associated with Florida and California. A monograph on him was recently published by Ron Newsom of Florida, a friend and neighbor of the artist in his later years...
