Original Japanese woodblock print by 20th century master Jun'Ichiro Sekino (1914-1988) circa 1950s. Unusual column format (roughly 28" by 10" paper, 21" by 5" image), extremely unusual subject, signed "J. Sekino" in pencil lower right and numbered 67/100 lower left. In its original frame, not examined out of the frame but apparently in excellent condition. Sekino's woodblocks are found in the collections of most important art museums, including MOMA and the Art Institute of Chicago.

A Hand Colored Botanical Print Portraying Gladiolas. The Artist is the Victorian Jane Webb Loudon (1807-1858), and the Print is from the book “The Ladies Flower Garden of Ornamental Bulbous Plants” (plate 12), published in 1841 by Day and Haghe London, Lithographer to Queen Victoria. The print is triple matted and elegantly framed. Dimensions; 19.5" x 18". Excellent condition. See also item number 601985 (1542B).

Rare original lithograph by Franz Bernheimer (Germany, USA, Israel, 1911-1997). Signed in pencil l.r. and dated 1958. Also numbered No35 in pencil l.l. Bernheimer was born in Germany. He studied art in Munich and Zurich before WWII. He escaped Nazi Germany and emigrated to the USA via Cuba. He taught at Brooklyn College, at Sweet Bryar College, and eventually moved to Israel where he taught at Haifa University.

William Morris Hunt, American, 1824-1879, "The Hurdy-Gurdy Boy". This is a rare original lithograph by American artist and lithographer William Morris Hunt. The image size is 7 1/2 x 5 5/8 inches, published in a small edition in 1857, after the painting by Hunt which is now in the collection of the MFA Boston. Lester George Hornby 1882-1956 American This is an original color aquatint etching by American artist Lester George Hornby. The title is "Le Fete a Pantin", it was created and printed in 1911 in an edition of 25. The image measures 9 3/4X14 5/8 inches. This etching is hand signed in pencil lower right and printed on a medium weight laid type paper.

A truly beautiful circa 1890 print of elegant Parisians strolling past and perusing the famous Bouquiniste bookstalls along the banks of the Seine River, not signed in plate nor in pencil but certainly by a listed or even important and well-known artist. To date, reverse image searches and other internet research have, frustratingly, not revealed the identity of that artist. There are no watermarks...

A PAIR of old engravings from the Passion of Christ series of 14, engraved originally in 1521 by Dutch old master engraver LUCAS VAN LEYDEN (1494-1533). My research leads me to believe these two are apparently later impressions printed on wove rather than laid paper, by noted Flemish engraver Jan Harmansz Muller (1571-1628). (Wove, as opposed to "laid" paper, was not invented until the mid 18th century). The talented Muller made skilled and faithful copies after earlier artists' works...

Tavik Frantisek Simon, Czechoslovakian, 1877-1942, "Boulevard Saint Martin in Winter". A wintry day on a busy tree-lined street in Paris is the subject of this color aquatint etching by T. F. Simon. Published in 1914 in an edition of 200 it measures 12 1/4 x 14 1/2 inches. Pencil signed on the l.r. with a watermark on the l.l.

PAIR of chromolithograph prints of California's famous Big Trees, published in 1873 by Louis Prang. Each print measures 14" by 7 1/4" (17 1/2" by 10 1/2" framed). The title of one is "Big Trees, Calaveras Grove" and the other "Redwood Trees, Santa Cruz Mountains", both after original paintings by listed nineteenth century American artist John R. Key...
