Very RARE Engraving of Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. Bust length portrait facing left, wearing armor and the badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The portrait sits within an oval frame bearing the Latin inscription 'IMP. CAES. CAROLVS V. AVG.' The frame has been set into an alcove featuring fluted Doric columns, an eagle, swags of fruit and allegorical female figures, such as those of Germany and Africa at the bottom of the plate. In the background are battle and pastoral scenes...

There is a jagged paper tear of about 1" at upper left, extending roughly down the level of his ear, though, well to the left of it, in the unprinted area...

A mid 20th century lithograph by Mourlot after the original 1891 famous lithograph poster produced by HENRI de TOULOUSE-LAUTREC (1864-1901) "La Goulue", which served as early advertising for the-then new Moulin Rouge nightclub in Montmartre. The original very large poster, Lautrec's first attempt at lithography, was plastered all over Paris. Only 3,000 copies were printed and the surviving examples are very rare and valuable today (one achieved $500,000 at auction)...

A PAIR of very clean French artist 19th century etchings, the subject of both upper class women, one by CHARLES WALTNER (1846-1925), the second by ERNEST JOSEPH LAURENT (1859-1929).
