By Hungarian Artist Bela Szikiay, and dating to the 1930's, this fine etching measures 16" x 11", with a sight size of 11 3/4" x 8 1/4". It is affixed to a folded mat with backing, and is in good condition, with some minor foxing on the mat and one spot on the print, visible in the sky in the upper right area. It is signed in the print, as well being pencil signed in the margin, with artist's signature and title...

This is a print from the original woodblocks, of the work "Jongleur", 1938, from the series "Le Cirque de l'Etoile Filante (Circus of the Shooting Star) by the important French artist GEORGES ROUAULT (1871-1958). The print is quite small, 2 7/8" by 2 1/8" inside the mat (9 1/2" by 8 1/4" as framed). I believe that this is from the edition published at a later date by the Collectors' Guild of New York, as other examples I have seen are identically framed, and with their label on the reverse...

Japanese woodblock print by Katsuyuki Nishijima (b. 1945) depicting a shop front. This is an original, kanji titled, pencil-signed, limited edition print numbered 21/500 in the bottom margin. Late 20th century. Paper size 17" x 12 3/8" (image: 15 7/8" x just under 11 1/4"). Full margins. Excellent condition. There is one small piece of tape at the top back margin edge.

Fantastic Renaissance engraving, there are only 3 copys I could find one in the Metropolitan Museum, one on the Boston Museum of art and One in the Royal Collection Buckingham Palace. Good condition framed , size 20" by 15"

This, like many of his research notes, was an addendum to his book, The Life and Works of Haku Maki, which he published in 2007. He wrote an Appendix to the book called Chasing Maki. It is his story of buying prints and collecting images of Maki prints. This research note, written 10 years later, is about one of his chases, a chase that failed. Dan wrote: Please enjoy.

Original print in black and white, described on paperwork affixed to the backing as a Heliogravure, 10 1/4" by 8 3/4" inside the mat (26" by 22" as framed), not signed or numbered. The popular and familiar image is "Gabrielle et Jean" (after the famous painting of Renoir's wife and son). Heliogravure is described as one of the very earliest photographic etching processes. Apparently in 1919 at the artist's death, heliogravures were made of many of his popular paintings...

A Rare Japanese Album Leaf Prints by Toyokuni Kunisa Japan, 19th Century 14 full set of Japanese album leaf prints (10 triptych and 4 double leaf prints).A part of one triptych prit might be missed. It is in fine condition without any typical damages, and its measurements are 14" x 9 7/8" for each page.

A fine color soft-ground etching and aquatint by the noted, prolific Czech master artist TAVIK FRANTISEK SIMON (1877-1942), featuring the famous and much-loved "bouquiniste" bookstalls along the Seine in Paris. The sheet measures 17 3/4" by 15 1/2" and 19 1/2" by 17 1/4" very nicely framed back in the 1950's or so in Chicago at Anderson Galleries (label on backing). The print is signed in pencil at lower right by the artist and numbered 48 in the lower left margin...

Large limited-edition Japanese woodblock print by Joshua Rome (b. 1953) titled “Inawara” dated 12/20/1982. The bottom margin is titled, dated, numbered 28/100 and signed in pencil. The artist's red seal is beside the signature. Paper: 18 1/8" x 25" (image: 15 1/2” x 21 5/8"). Very good overall condition. The print is very lightly sunstruck. The bottom margin corners are a little wrinkled and the paper at the back upper edge is slightly distressed from tape removal.

A PAIR of black and white photos of Chinese families, taken no doubt in China, circa early 20th century. The photos, which measure 11" by 14 1/4" (16" by 20 1/2" in black metal strip frames behind plexi) are later 20th century reprints of the originals. The images provide a fascinating look at the people of China in the early years of the century.

Original stone lithograph, not an offset print, 23 3/4" by 26 3/4" inside the mat (not examined out of frame), signed in the plate by the artist Jan TOOROP and dated in the plate 1915. Executed primarily in black, note the color----pale orange in the cap and shirt, blue in the trousers. Toorop is a major Dutch artist, one of whose works (painting) just exceeded $700,000 at auction. One of a number of William Russell Flint prints in my shop, this is a fresh and clean example of the fine color photolithographs issued for collectors over a period of decades. This example, published in 1939 in an edition of 306, is signed in pencil at lower right and bears the characteristic embossed blindstamp in lower left margin. The title is "Provencale Granary".
