THREE unframed paintings on canvas, including a landscape viewed through a window (24" by 36"), a female figure on a balcony (36" by 24"), and a woman reclining on a bed (40" by 30"), one of the works signed at lower right by California-Japanese artist YURI MASON (1920-2000). As only one of the works is signed (and dated 1988), I would like to keep them together, as they were acquired together. There is little information on the artist, who painted in the San Francisco Bay area...

A pleasing watercolor painting of a small sail boat on a lake, trees beyond, painted in an impressionist hand. Unfortunately the talented artist did not sign the work, which is laid down on a card. Framing circa mid 1960's included the old fashioned detail-dulling non-glare glass which should be discarded. The work measures 14" by 10" inside the mat and 19 1/2" by 14 1/2" framed...

By noted South African artist, Otto Klar (born in Austria, 1908-1994), this drawing depicts a group of huts, some figures, and hills in the background. In a simple wood frame, it measures 10 3/4" by 12 5/8" (sight size 6" by 8"), and is inscribed on the back, "Christmas South Africa, 1977, Gift from Otto Klar, Dec 2nd". In pencil, on buff colored paper, frame and double matting are clearly original, and the drawing appears to be in excellent condition...

This is one of three works I am offering, by a talented Canadian mid 20th century painter who signed her works "Eola Sutherland". Although there is online a photo of a gravestone for an Eola Hayton Sutherland (1884-1967) of Ontario, likely our painter, there is a lack of biographical information on the artist. Her skill is obvious, as is her familiarity with the Group of Seven and their style. Several have sold at auction in Toronto. This example measures 16" by 20", and is oil on board...
