Ink on paper, double-sided drawing of cowboys and their horses, 7 7/8" by 10 1/4" inside the present mat (13" by 16" as framed), unsigned, but acquired in Yucca Valley from close friends of the artist who obtained much of his work after his 2005 passing. This is a vigorous and spontaneous work by an obviously very talented artist of the American west. Colt's works have been sold at Bonhams auctions of California art, and Santa Fe dealers offer his work alongside the best of western artists...

One of three works in my shop by the same artist, F. KENWOOD GILES (1899/1900-1972), is this watercolor on paper painting, 14" by 19 1/2" inside the mat, 20 1/2" by 26 1/2" as framed, the subject several pink-walled, white-roofed island homes on a bluff overlooking the sea, flowering shrubs and bushes completing the happy scene. The paintings are not dated, but I believe they would have been created in the 1950's. Giles was a versatile English artist who lived in Bermuda from 1950 onward...

A nicely worked watercolor featuring the green farmland and coastal mountains of Ireland, signed at lower right by noted, listed Irish artist SAM MCLARNON (1923-2013). The circa 1970's work, 11 1/4" by 18" (17" by 23" in inexpensive modern framing), is in excellent fresh condition, the colors not faded. One can almost smell the oceanic air. There is some record that McLarnon has had auction records in the past as high as $10,000 but I cannot verify that information...

A nude slave girl on a bear skin rug orientalist manner oil by A. Goldwhite a listed artist. This stunningly beautiful painting is c. 1900 oil on board framed in a quality period gold leafed frame. Signed lower right A. Goldwhite measuring approximately 18 x 24 inches framed size 24 x30 inches the condition is excellent. A quality painting would be a fine addition to any collection.

A fine circa late 19th century watercolor painting of one of the famous narrow canals of Venice, Italy, the canal offset by sun-washed buildings, signed at lower right by listed Italian artist LUIGI LANZA (1860-1913). The work measures 7" by 11 1/2" inside the mat and 13 1/2" by 17 1/2" simply framed. A circa late 1940's to mid 1950's gallery label from Chicago remains affixed to the backing. The piece is very clean and fresh-appearing. Allow for reflections in a few images...

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Henry George Keller (1869-1949) studied at prominent art schools in Germany before returning to the states where he attended the Art Students’ League in New York and Cincinnati School of Art in the early 1900s. He worked as a lithographer to finance his art education and joined the teaching staff at Cleveland School of Art where he served until 1945...

An original ink drawing of a 19th century sailing ship, signed at lower right and dated 1970/Old Lahaina by artist WILLIAM SELLERS. I have not located much information on the artist, but see that pencil signed prints of some of his imagery were evidently distributed. This is definitely an original work; careful inspection shows his guiding pencil lines...

A really well painted antique small watercolor of yellow roses, 6 1/4" by 8 1/4" in strip frame, signed at right with what looked to be LCTiff----When I purchased this in San Francisco area in the 1980's or early 1990's I thought it possibly a turn of the century work by Louis Comfort Tiffany. Further research appears to establish that this is not the case. The signature does not resemble known Tiffany signatures and there is little to no record of still life works that resemble this...

Flowers in Basket Still Life

A very sweet oil on canvas painting of several young ice skaters in Holland in winter, the scene completed by a classic windmill in the left distance and snowy roofs at right. The work is signed at lower right in red "M. Leuty" or "Lenty". I do not see an obvious listed artist that would correspond. Measurements are 22" by 16", and 26" by 20" framed. Despite the European subject matter, the artist could be American; materials used suggest that possibility...

Mid twentieth century oil on canvas painting of mallard ducks in flight, signed at lower left "De Marcillac", the measurements 21 1/2" by 43", a several inch wide whitewashed frame available with the painting. This is a beautifully painted work that will be surely appreciated by the sportsman or decoy collector...

Original copper engraving by Wendell H. Black (American, 1919-1972), first edition printed posthumously by Berkley Chappell. In excellent original condition. Titled "Predella" and inscribed a/p l.l. Also signed "Wendell H. Black '54 by Elaine" l.r. Also inscribed bottom right of the sheet "Berk Chappell-imp". Provenance available.
