After six months of evaluation we have determined it to be a Crucifixion. There is a pink angel in the left corner. Late 1940's American Dutch on Paper by Willem de Kooning (1904-1997). 15" x 22". Signed by the Artist. The Paper texture is simular to Arches 90 lb cold pressed. At the bottom of this Painting, there are lines which indicate to us other drawings by de Kooning. Late 19th Century Oil on Canvas, 34" x 26". Portrait of a Gentleman (Not Signed). To date, I attribute this painting to have been painted by John Singer Sargent in 1880. This is a (not approved) portrait of a Philadelphia merchant named John White Fields. I named this portrait Merchant X by JSS. Folk Art Portrait by American Artist, attributed to Sheldon Peck (1797-1868). This Portrait was purchased at a North Carolina auction from the Larew Collection. The 19th century oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman was said to be Thomas Johnston from Concord, NC (Sept. 1850). It was marked on the original canvas (relined) bought in Davie County. It is mounted in a mahogany veneer frame with yellow pine backing. Canvas 29" 24" and the Frame is 38" x 33"...

This carved lapis lazuli melon shape snuff bottle is 2 ½ inches tall, 1 ¾ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches thick. The artist carved a large melon as the snuff bottle and a smaller melon with leaf and spouts as decoration. The snuff bottle is well hollowed but has some natural flaws. It is in great condition.

This is a good sample of using the natural color of agate to create an interesting snuff bottle. It is 3 inches tall, 1 1/8 inches wide and 1 inch thick. The artist used the orange of the agate to create a large squash and small squash hanging on its side. The black section of the stone color was used to create a lucky bat; the lighter color of the stone served to create a monkey grabbing the smaller squash. The subject is quite striking and the workmanship is wonderful...
