The image is of a nighttime snowfall in front of a traditional Japanese structure. Sekino was creating art before age 20. He knew Shiko Munakata, the famous printmaker, while still young, as they were from the same area...

An ink drawing of scrubby dunes, titled at lower left margin "Seascape, after Wm. M. Chase", signed at lower right margin "Hugo Anderson" and initialed and dated nearby 1980. The roughly 6 1/4" by 9 1/2" drawing (11 1/2" by 14 1/2" in metal frame) could be by listed Santa Monica artist Hugo Anderson (1946-)----it was found in the area----but I cannot say with any certainty that that is the case. There being no glass, the drawing has acquired a water splotch at upper right in the sky...

The scene is a small boat harbor with a traditional church and coastal village in the middle ground. Bonas was born in Barcelona but was in France in his twenties. Exhibitions throughout continental Europe and then the US were held in subsequent years...

An interesting work of the mid 1970's----original watercolor and crayon drawing of the freeway intersections and downtown towers of Los Angeles at the time, signed at lower right "John N" and dated 10-74. The piece measures 12 1/2" by 13" inside the mat and 19 1/2" by 19 1/2" in the period frame...

A very impressive limited edition bronze sculpture, "To Take a Scalp", 1978, by the important American western sculptor artist ROBERT "BOB" SCRIVER (1914-1999), measuring 19" by 13" by 11" high and weighing over 40 pounds on its own without a plinth or base. The work is numbered "3" (of a likely very small edition) and bears a dedication "To Bette From Bob Scriver". The work displays a fine greenish patina. Acquired by me in Palm Springs, said to have come from a large New York collection...

After the great world-renowned master MARC CHAGALL (1887-1985), this is the 1972 Galerie Maeght lithograph poster "Artist as Phoenix", issued in an edition of 5000. The print has fresh bright colors, although it is evenly rumpled from age (no creases, just not a flat surface). It can be shipped rolled in a tube (for lower cost shipping than indicated) or with green metal mid-century spring-clip style poster frame (the present shipping quote)...

A nicely executed good-sized pastel drawing, 19" by 23" (24" by 28" framed), the subject a fast-looking high-end sailboat off a coastline, manned by a number of figures. I would estimate the age as circa 1960's or 1970's. Framed behind detail-dulling non-glare glass, which was common during those years. Frame shows wear, drawing is in excellent condition. Signature "Mather" is at lower left.
