A hand signed photo of famed space pioneer JOHN GLENN (1921-2016), who was the first American to orbit the earth, in 1962, when he made three orbits as the world watched in awe. In 1998 at age 77 he became the oldest man to travel into space, when he flew aboard the Discovery space shuttle. In between, Glenn was successful in private business, and was US Senator from Ohio for several terms...

An oversized albumen photograph of the Grand Canal in Venice with gondolas and delicate hand tinting. Image 16 ½ inches (42 cm) tall, 21 inches (53 cm) wide. Frame 22 ¼ inches (56 cm) tall, 26 ½ inches (67 cm) wide. The photograph is slightly smaller than the card on which is mounted.

Condition: there is a considerable fade in the center of the image from the wooden backboard or the gap between the boards. The right side above the buildings on the far right some discoloration...

A hard cover with dust jacket written by Dean A. Fales Jr. and published by Bonanza Books in 1986. The jacket shows modest wear along the edge and the book is slightly cocked otherwise fine. There are 577 illustrations including 148 color plates and 429 b&w photographs.

An albumen photograph of Cairo titled on the mat, “CAIRO, FORM THE CITADEL,WITH THE MOSQUE OF SULTAN HASSAN.” Also in smaller type the number648. An excellent print with good tones. 5 7/8 by 8 1/8 inches (15 by20.5cm). The white light cardboard stock is shaded slightly darker for about one inch around the photo. Overall size is 12 inches by 15 inches (30.5 by 38 cm).

Condition; The photo is in excellent condition with minor surface scratches...

Issues: gilt lettering has faded on the boards which now appear light brown; the boards also show wear and staining, predominately on the back where the ends are worn, stained and chipped; the book is slightly cocked, there are gilt initials imprinted on brown front free endpaper, and there is light foxing. Sold as is.

A second revised edition hard cover with dust jacket published in 1967 ( though no date is noted on the front page). The book features Russian art and architecture from the Kremlin. Colorized plates. 187pp.

This is a very detailed map of Worcestershire in western England, first engraved by noted London map maker Robert Morden in 1695 for Camden's Britannia, and issued in several later editions in the early years of the 18th century. The map measures 14 1/4" by 16 5/8" inside the mat (17" by 19" as framed). Like most of its type it has been hand colored at a later date...
