Woman's kimono madeof hand-spun cotton with shibori pattern. It is dyed with vegetable indigo. The white cloth in the upper inside is also hand-spun cotton. In excellent condition. The first half of the 20th century. 126cm x 140cm
Chinese guilt bronze buddha, 20th century. A buddha with his hands in mudra, the gesture for meditation. The buddha is seated on a lotus blossom blooming out of another lotus blossom, atop a hexagonal base. It measures 14" tall, 5" wide at base.
Chinese landscape scroll painting, with accompanying calligraphy poem about different ways to escape the Summer heat, such as resting beneath a willow tree on the edge of the lake. Signed Huang Jun Bi (1898-1991), dated Summer of 1981. With three red chops.

A very tall early 20th C. Chinese mudman carrying a cane. In excellent condition, with no repair or cracking. H:13-3/4".
Japanese plaster and paper mache mask of a Boddhisattva (Bosatsu in Japanese), a Buddhist monk who has reached a high level of enlightenment. The mask has long earlobes, typical of a holy being in Buddhism, green lacquered hair pulled into two buns, and golden lacquer skin with traces of black lacquer. Early 20th century.

Antique Nepalese Rice Beer vessel with extensively engraved surface. The vase shapes vessel is elaborately cast bronze with nice detail at the neck with the entire body engraved including the interior rim that also includes a temple inscription. Very rare piece and in great condition. Nearly 5 pounds and 13.5" high and 7" diameter.
This mid-20th century carved wood incense holder is 12” high and 2” in diameter. There are four dragons carved in openwork relief coiled around the cylindrical body of the incense holder. It is in good condition.
A rare large Ainu artisan carved Hokkaido black bear (Higuma) made from one solid piece of Japanese hardwood. Intricate carving to the fur including the underside of the bear. Eyes made of Obsidian. Minor wear.

Condition: Tape has been removed from the back. Those areas as well as a crease at the right edge have been reinforced by a conservator. Slight fading.
A beautiful Japanese black lacquer over wood with applied mother of pearl charger featuring 2 sparrow-like birds surrounded by cherry blossoms. The branches have gold highlights and the cherry blossom buds have red lacquer accents. One small mop bud is missing, otherwise in very good condition. Measures 17 inches in diameter.

A wonderful translucent blue celadon Tobi vase done in the classic style of Longquan Chinese pottery. This piece was made by one of the few great female Japanese potters of the previous century—Suwa Sozan II, daughter of Meiji Imperial Court Artist Sozan I.
Suwa Sozan I (1852—1922) was born in an area of what is known today as Ishikawa prefecture. After a short stint in the military he took up pottery design and painting under Touda Tokuji in 1873...
Wooden five storied pagoda done in the style just as the actual structures appear including the wooden joints and key architectural elements that are conjoined together to create the structure. Fine worksmanship is done with the balustrades, roof, and the are under the roof known as the mune in Japanese. Age: 20th century Size: height 84" width 16" length 16.25"
This large carved rose quartz snuff bottle is 3 ¼ inches tall, 2 ¼ inches wide and 2 inches in depth. One side depicts a crane standing on one leg and a Ling Zhi (a tree mushroom that symbolizes longevity) in its mouth; the other side depicts a deer facing a pine tree. The snuff bottle is late 1970¡¯s product. It has some natural flaws and some small chips on the top of the rim.
