It is a child's vest which features very intricate embroidered patterns in bright colors and in cotton floss, in cross stitch. A Gilt Bronze Je Tsongkhapa Buddhist Statue. This exquisite seated statue of Je Tsongkhapa boasts of its outstanding craftsmanship. Je Tsongkhapa (1357-1419), Founder of the Ganden monastery in 1409, is portrayed with lifelike facial expression and graceful bearing. Je Tsongkhapa is believed to have laid down the basis for what was later named the Gelug ("virtuous ones") order. Height: 9 1/8"� (23.18 cm)

Chinese Amber carved Chimera Ornament with Macrame knot, 1" 7/8" wide, 5/8" thick, 4 1/2" long with rope overall, nice carved body and face, the condition is good.

This well carved stone laughing Buddha is 3 ¼” high (with wood base is 5” high), 4 ¾” wide and 2” in depth. It depicts a laughing Buddha (Budai in Chinese; Hotei in Japanese) comfortably leaning on his ever present cloth sack. His left hand holds a ruyi scepter; his right hand holds a gold nugget. A young boy is resting on the Buddha’s right knee. Aside from natural blemishes on the back of the statue and two crack lines in the wood base, it is in great condition.

From our Southeast Asia Collection, a small but fine Burmese ink on palm leaf sutra with thayo embossed wood covers, depicting Buddha under the Bodhi Tree of Enlightenment flanked by two adorants in the center medallion, then encircled by disciples and zoomorphic entities in the surrounding images. The reverse side contains sutra writings in Burmese script, not yet translated...

This Uzbek textile from northern Afghanistan is called a "bolim posh" meaning a canopy held over the bride and groom at the wedding ceremony. Embroidered in couching stitch ("basma") in mostly silk thread on a fine linen ground, it measures 125 W x 134 cm L. Some minor staining consistent with its age (mid to late 20th century)...

The mark of Ando Jubei is stamped on the bottom gilded rim of this 6.5" tall 20th century cloisonne vase. A cluster of silver wired grapes and leaves decorate the deep green ground.

Condition: Good, with only scuffing to the bottom rim, and a small indention to the upper. Also, there is a slight scratch below the grape cluster and another above the left wire tendril, too faint to photograph. The various white spots are merely light reflection.
