Large size gurra, the long stick consists of 4 beautifully carved long strings with an open space between them which demonstrates fine carving craftsmanship. A realistic rope knot is in the middle. A richly patinated carved wood figure of a seated drum playing musician. This item was made in Bali, circa 1900-1940, during the first half of the 20th Century. Condition - very good - there is a small chip to the head-dress (please view enlargement 11) - no further damage and no repairs. 18cm (7 inches) wide; 32cm (12.5 inches) high.

Pair of Chinese cloisonne vases with intricate designs and fine workmanship. The gold gilt vases are mirror image and each is decorated with a panel featuring a bird on a flowering branch; the opposing side having a panel with a butterfly hovering over flowers. The ornate brown background with gold wires features a floral pattern to include large chrysanthemums. In excellent condition they measure 7.5" high x 4" diameter.

Japanese framed woodblock print by artist Hasui Kawase (1883-1957), depicting a lake with boats and rainfall. In the foreground is a romantic scene in which a man sits with his face in his hands, a red bouquet of flowers beside him, watching a woman holding a blue parasol who stands gazing back. Markings include Hasui's red chop and signature, publisher seals in left margin, titled in right margin.

A solitary thatched hermitage rises on the top of this stony crag set onto a beautifully carved and signed rosewood stand. Together they are 7.5 x 11.5 x 13 cm (3 x 4-1/2 x 5 inches) and in excellent condition. The box is titled Yasegawa-ishi, inside signed Seicho and dated a fortunate day in the second month of 1936.

Chinese Blanc de Chine Quan Yin seated on a resting elephant. Quan Yin, goddess of great compassion, is holding 2 lotus flowers, one of which is broken symbolizing a broken spirit. She is holding both pieces of the stem in her hand. The lotus symbolizes purity, spiritual enlightenment, and in this case, new beginnings or rebirth. Excellent detailing and in excellent condition, it dates end of 2nd quarter 20th century. Measures 7.5ʺ wide × 4.5ʺ deep × 12ʺ high.

Width approximately 13.6 cm (the tipspout to the handle). There is a chip at the cover. There is a chip inside the cover. The dragon head on the cover can go in and out. In good condition.

The delicate ladies in waiting Japanese hina dolls for the Japanese Girl's Days in February. They are extremely beautiful with delicately detailed gofun (crushed shell with paste) faces and hands. The photos could not caputured it. Their face, hair, hands and costumes are superior to many other "Jyokan" dolls, obviously the work of first rated Kyoto made dolls. The standing dolls are 8 7/8" tall. One of the sleeves on the standing doll is soiled (enlargement 8)...

Rare "Buddha Asuka (B)" woodblock print by Kiyoshi Saito, 1955, number 40 of only 50 printed, signed in white ink and sealed in red ink both on the image area. Signed and sealed printed label "self-carved self printed" also included (attached to paper backing removed to inspect condition.)

Lovely antique silk Chinese panel embroidered with metallic wires framing flowers and butterflies in jewel tones of purple, blue, raspberry, and gold, natural linen backing, black silk border, easily opens to make a pillow if desired. Size: 12 1/4" x 8 1/4". Condition is good overall. Loose metallic wires, border seams need re-stitching, some loose embroidery threads.
