This is a bit out of my field as primarily an art dealer but I will do my best to describe: small cloisonne vessel, age unknown, likely mid 20th century I believe, 3 1/4" in height, 2 1/2" diameter as seen from the top, Japanese or Chinese origin. Overall good vintage condition, no dents but there is a small area (see photos) where the enamel work has crumbled/is missing. Remember that the photo is very close-up, so that this area measures only 3/4" in length, total.

A Kuchi dress from Afghanistan from the second half of 20th century. The dress bodice has a front slit with button closure, and dense silk embroidery adorns the bodice, sleeve ends, and bottom hem. The embroidery is mostly satin stitch, with ladder stitch and herringbone stitch on black cotton. The embroidered sleeve bands and bottom embroidered band are 2 inches in width. This is a Cultural Revolution porcelain figurine of Norman Bethune. It is more finely made than most Cultural Revolution figures and shows the Canadian doctor leading a donkey. Bethune served in the communist Eighth Route Army during the Sino-Japanese War and died from blood poisoning contracted in the operating room. He became a major embodiment of the revolutionary martyr in Cultural Revolution mythology...

Elegant ebony wood carving of a Balinese beauty circa 1960 to 1970- possibly older. This was obviously created for the tourist market and panders to the Western ideal of the female form of the time. I traveled to Bali in the 80s and 90s and found their arts and crafts leaning more to the impressionist side, where figures looked like the Navi from Avatar. Given its hardness and cost, ebony is usually only given to master craftsman to carve from...

Vintage chinese wood chair from the 1960s, the wood is carved to imitate bamboo. The back is carved with a design of bamboo leaves. It measures 38" tall, the seat measures 18" deep by 23" wide. 1 of a set of 4, available as a set or individually.

A small oil on Masonite painting of giraffes silhouetted by an African sunset, 10" by 8", unframed, signed at lower right "B.C. Syrett 1968". I do not see information on the artist, who was obviously talented. The painting could use a cleaning to remove soiled varnish, light scuffs and some stray black surface marks in the sky.
