Elaborately carved Chinese hardwood, possibly zitan, brushpot; with allover lotus leaves and lotus pods in relief, (minor wear). Size; Height of the carving is 5 inches.

A vintage Japanese Tansu called Honbako (book chest) made of dark stained Momiji (Maple) and Tochinoki (Horse Chestnut) woods with an interior made of Kiri (Paulownia). Single hinged door secures a spacious area where books were kept and 5 filing drawers where flats and documents were stored. Below the door is one large drawer where valuables were kept. All original bronze hardware.

DESCRIPTION: A beautifully painted, very large Mexican charger (or platter) with a dark blue outer rim framing two birds perched in a tree, surrounded by scrolling green foliage, large flowers and yellow fruit. Dating from the 1960's, on the reverse is written "Mexico"; the back is pierced with holes for hanging. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. DIMENSIONS: A large 18" diameter (45.8 cm).

Basket handmade of Yama-budo, wild grapevine which grows deep in the mountains. It is used by a mountain worker as a backpack. Generally in good condition but has a few minor breaks. The first half of the 20th century. W:43cm x 28cm x 15cm.

Korean porcelain celadon vase with black lacquer and MOP overlay. The condition of the porcelain is perfect, but the lacquer is not, some small pieces of mother of pearl are missing and some touch up paint around a section of the shoulder is evident. Measuring 56 x 88 cm, this horse headcover was hand-embroidered by Uzbeks of the Lakai tribe, well-known for their horsemanship. Each of the embroidered panels feature solar and horned designs, executed in Bukhara couching on red wool flannel, fringed with beaded silk tassels ending in small white beads, a typical feature in Central Asian embroidery. Condition is good but with a few small holes. Estimated age: mid 20th century.

Saye qosha is an Uzbek textile used to decorate piles of quilts when they are stored during the day. Two rectangles of cotton solidly embroidered in cross stitch with multi-colored hooked motifs, sewn together to make a V-shape. Fringes along the bottom in alternating green, bergundy, yellow, red, purple, and white. In their colors and repetition, these motifs are typical of the embroideries of Tajikistan and Sukhanderia in southern Uzbekistan...

Lovely cream and orange colored toggle carving with an interesting triangular shape of a pair of monkeys clinging to peaches attached by a branch and leaves with hole for a toggle string. Size: 1.5" Long x 1.25" High

A spiraling form in softly gleaming golden brown by Yajima Boshu enclosed in the original singed wooden box titled simply Jundo Kabin (Pure Bronze Vase). It is 8.5 cm (3-1/4 inches) diameter, 27.5 cm (11 inches) tall and in excellent condition signed on the base with a silver cartouche.
Yajima Boshu (1925-2001) was born in Takaoka, one of the most important bronze producing regions in Japan...

Chinese jadeite carved pendant of a melon with its vines and leaves draping down its side, and a cute mouse crawling up the side. It hangs from a red cord necklace and has a small jade bead on the thread atop of the pendant. Size: (jade only) 1.75" height, 1" width

An antique luminous white Chinese Peking Glass wine cup. It is molded glass, cut/grinded with a short carved foot. Chinese glass was largely used to imitate more precious materials such as white jade, lapis lazuli and other valuable minerals.

Small sweet container in the shape of a miniature kaioke, a box for the Japanese shell matching game. The outside engraved with flowers, the inside of the lid with a gilt kamon, maybe a sakura family crest, and an inscription. The base marked jungin (pure silver) and signed.
