Consolidated Glass Company produced the Catalonian line in 1927. It was made to look like glass found in Catalonia Spain at the archaeological sites, and had bubbles and raised rings blown into the glass. This is the 1174 fan vase - part of the Spanish Knobs variation - in emerald green. The vase is approximately 4 inches high and in perfect condition. This classic Mandruzatto block vase, done in the Sommerso technique with layers of ruby in crystal glass, has 8 cut and polished facets. While a labor intensive technique, this style reveals the elegant beauty of the glass, and produces wonderful optics. Made in 1970s or 80s. It stands 6 1/2" h by 3" diameter. The piece is in excellent condition. It has "Made in Murano Italy" label.

Vase by Danish manufacturer Hjorth, c 1920-30. Grey stoneware, decoration of Art Déco scroll work in “flow” copper red under beautifully crackled glaze. Probably by Hans Hjorth. The Hjorth Terracotta Factory, now part of the Bornholm museum, is still working in the same premises where it was founded in the 19th century, still using the same equipment. Impressed deer mark (Hjorth is Danish for deer). Height "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: fine

Large and impressive French Art Deco vase by Robert Lallemant (1902-1954), circa 1928-1930. Almost black iridescent glaze. Fully signed: "T.R.Lallemant" and inscribed "France". 14 3/4" tall. In excellent condition. Robert Lallemant was an important French ceramicist of the period, as well as a furniture designer (he created furniture for the UAM--Union des Artistes Modernes) and all around designer and photographer.

Teapot, milk jug, cup and saucer, a solitaire service made by the Carl Knoll factory in Czech Carlsbad / Karlovy Vary. Cross-striped like the Victorian bathing-suits – just a coincidence or might there be a thought behind this design? Carlsbad was a fashionable 19th century spa, famous for its hot springs. Impressed mark for 1848 – 1868. Height of teapot "4 ½ / 11 cm including handle, diameter of saucer "5 ½ / 14 cm. Condition: a nick to the cup (cf. pics).

Round decorative tile of an early steamship atop a Sherwin-Williams-type schematic earth, diameter 7 3/8" and about 7/8" thick at the edges. This is a hand crafted and no doubt unique piece; hand painted, and glazed. On the reverse is scratched into the ceramic what I take to be apparently the date: "11-7-22". There are two holes drilled at the top, through which a wire has been strung, to allow this to hang on a wall. See several thousand paintings, drawings and prints in my shop.

A nice sterling silver double jigger with a turned ebony handle. The jigger has a smaller and a larger cup, each in bell form. The jigger is marked by Edward San Giovanni, who worked in Ridgefield, CT during the 1940s and 50s.

In 1965 "THE WORLD OF SPRATLING" museum exhibit touring the U.S. included this design in their collection. Rosewood and sterling silver are used in this ovoid piece which stands 1 3/4" high & 4 3/4" long. The tray is in beautiful condition. It is pictured on Phyllis Goddards spratlingsilver.com and in MEXICAN Silver by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk. Spratling 1950's hallmarks are on the underside.
