Woman's juban (under kimono) made of recycled cloth such as hand-spun cotton with Hinode shibori, which is vegetable indigo dye for the lower part, and cotton with katazome, for the top part. Pair of unusual 1930s Japanese sterling silver salt and pepper shakers in a shape of Amida Buddha sitting with his hands in jo-in mudra - hand gesture signifying concentration. Excellent quality work, great faces and textile lines. Sliding door on the bottom, marked STERLING 950. Excellent design, very well made, wonderful table objects. Height 2.1 inches, weight of the two 54 grams.

Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Beautifully made, very pleasant patina. Diameter 0.72 inches.

Japanese glass ojime in a form of tombodama bead with four yellow petaled flowers with richly textured complex centers, leaves and fine tiny silver foil inclusions. Tombodama can be translated as “dragonfly ball” and the name is thought to come about because when the molten glass is applied to the core bead it resembles a dragonfly’s eye. Superbly made piece - see the individual stamens and finely textured petals, in perfect condition. Height 0.88 inches.

This is very fine Japanese white ceramic porcelain cup and saucer set. It is made by Tosho Kiln, Seto city in Japan. The quality of porcelain is superb with finely and thinly made body in the design of ribbed relief work. You can see thru the light when holding under light. Each cup and saucer has marking on Tosho on the bottom of items. It came with nice gift box...

Japanese Chestnut color wooden Sake Barrel, Ca. 1940, 7" high, 11 1/2" diameter top rim, wrapped around with twisted Bamboo ropes, and stopper, signed Kanji writings on the bottom outside. The condition is good.
