Vintage Japanese woodblock print by moku hanga style artist Fumio Fujita (1933-present). He graduated the Musashino College of Fine Arts in 1955 and began making woodblock prints in 1963. This is a piece of noh drama costume which is called "Choken". Choken is made of silk gauze or weft silk gauze with woven designs with gold and colored threads. It is worn by a dancer or noble man in the noh stage. This choken has woven design of Hagi ( Japanese clover ) and Nadeshiko ( Dianthus ) with gold threads. A small Paktong Ink Box made in China during the Republic period (1912-1949) or earlier. The copper base bears a maker's or retailer's mark which, unfortunately, is too worn for us to read. Condition - wear to the base, consistent with many years of use, otherwise very good...

1930s Japanese plastic kushi (hair comb) with embedded gold tone metallic flower design and 2 types of mother of pearl inlays depicting magical rain hat and and Daikoku’s mallet, design continuing on the back. Very well made, wonderful work in Japanese taste, 2 losses to inlays (handle of the mallet and a leaf on the back), otherwise in great condition. Length 3.82 inches. Part of East Coast collection of Japanese hair items.

Antique Chinese archaic style Bronze seal with Foo dog from the estate of a noted archologist. Period unknown but very old. Well cast with some bronze decay. Size 1.25" sq 1.25" h .
