Large stoneware jar with multi-color dripping glaze over a creamy white crackled glaze. The green is the traditional green of earlier Shigaraki ware, the blue as well, but a variety of brown, red, pink and black have been added to the palette. Chinese Complete set of Mahjong Set, Bamboo back bone front with colorful characters, total 144 pieces of tiles plus 4 round pieces of east, west, north and south and 4 square dices, many counting sticks. To open the front of the box, push holes in the back side toward forward, all five(5) trays will open one by one. Box size(6 1/4" high, 9" wide, 5 3/4" deep), and the condition is good.

DESCRIPTION: A handsome Japanese hibachi, crafted from a section of kiri wood (paulownia wood) with rounded body and lacquer floral designs. Two large peony blossoms are lacquered in gold and orange on the front, with smaller leafed branches on the reverse. Japanese cigarette case, damascened with silver and gold on steel, c 1930's. Decoration in Komai style of a temple gate, pagodas and Mt Fuji. The back with a Fukui mark under butterfly and 24K. In addition two marks resembling stylized birds’ wings on a sgraffito ground. Width "3 ¾ / 9,2 cm, height "3 ¼ / 8,2 cm. Condition: some wear to the black surface, otherwise fine (cf pics).
