Vintage chinese woodblock color print of Chinese tea house, called Red Frog in Shanghai by Elizabeth Keith, 1887-1956. It depicts a large tea house bustling with people; outside, a mother with her children, a bearded man, and other civilians. Tibetan Himalayan Wool Horse Rug with Dragon design, purchased in Lhasa Tibet early 1980's, 35" x 25" wide, curled up Dragon in the center on dark blue background bordered by Tibetan motif, the outer border is sewn with red Felt fabric and the bottom is dark blue fabric. The condition is new.

Vintage Japanese kogo (box for incense during tea ceremony) made out of natural clam shell painted with lacquer on the inside with of a gnarled trunk and cherry flowers. Very clever design, rather suggestive erotic (see Enlargement 6) connotation as is usual with clam shape in Japanese culture, two parts fit perfectly and stay closed very well, in superb condition. Signed with a seal of the artist that seem to read TOGAI. Wonderful piece in Japanese taste. Length 3 5/8 inches.

A drum handle from a gompa used by a lama. The handle can be removed for a better handling, especially when the lama had to go for a family ceremony, marriage, funerals etc. the drum; the drum is quite heavy as it is made in a single piece of wood with almost no figurative carving only one chimeric animal on each side. Total height is about 94 cm; handle is 54 cm diameter 42/44 cm and thickness 20 cm.

Vintage wooden Japanese sumitsubo - a carpenter line, in a form of a base with a spike, and rotating spoked wheel with a thread on it. Unusual version of the tool - it lacks a vessel part for ink soaked cotton, but has a spike. I am not entirely sure how it functions, but it is probably fixed to a wooden beam by pushing in the spike, and the thread is pulled to the desired point to make a straight line...
