This is a rustic brushpot a farmer in rural Hubei carved this out of a tree trunk. He spotted the branch at the right and decided not to trim it Hence this pot has a handle. Its skin is old and patinated. It is a charming pot. It dates from the 19th century.

A pair of elegant small mirror image Chinese famille rose garlic mouth bottle vases each decorated with a design of bands of stylized flower shapes at the mouth over a ruyi head border. The sides of the vases painted with luscious peony blooms on which two exotic birds perch, all over rockwork and key pattern band.

On the opposite sides, multiple lines of calligraphy with three seal marks. Base holds four character Yongzheng seal mark in blue surrounded by a double border.

Beautiful pair of Chinese rectangular stands made of camel bone. This pair are carved all over with different types of scrolling vines. The top of one is carved with a dragon and phoenix with a ball of fire between them floating in clouds. A Chinese Jizhou conical bowl decorated on the inside with a pattern of six paper cut prunis blossoms reserved in a dark brown glaze on top of a lighter brown glaze thinning to the lighter brown glaze at the rim. The reverse in the same glaze with the base left bare revealing the buff coloured body.

I believe that this was done with the lost wax method.
