Japanese small format surimono woodblock print by French artist Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) titled "Chagrins d'Amour. Kusaie, Est Carolines" (Sorrows of Love. Kusaie, East Carolines) published October 26, 1940. The full size image is illustrated on page 60 (plate 70) of “The Prints of Paul Jacoulet” by Richard Miles, 1982 and is described on page 105. Full 6 panel Japanese screen painting of a sweeping landscape with mountains, low hills and a lake with Mt Fuji rising in the background. Around the edges of the lake are clustered tiny houses. Painted in light mineral colors and ink on paper with gold flecks.

Vintage green stained staghorn obidome (sash ornament) carved as a running lizard. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Clever design, good quality carving, nice finish and patina, two metal fittings on the back for an obi cord. Length 2 inches.
Early 20th century, Chinese 17" jadeite ruyi scepter featuring a double fish. This scepter is carved from a solid piece of jadeite with the prettiest shades of mottled blues, greens and whites and has a gorgeous polish. Comes with a hardwood presentation stand and a wonderful tassel. Dates Circa 1940-50s

1960's Chinese green and white jadeite carving of lotus and bamboo on a custom wood stand. A frog is perched on one of the lotus leaves and a bamboo stalk in the background serves to hold calligraphy brushes or fresh flowers. In excellent condition, it measures 7.25" high, on stand 8.75" high, 5.5 across, and about 3.5" deep.

Japanese Porcelain Jar Top, cover for Vase or Jar. Cobalt Blue underglaze design of floral and Bamboo with large high blue knob. 5" high, 4 1/2 diameter-outer maximum, 2 1/2" diameter-inner rim(jar diameter must be larger than 2 1/2"), the condition is good.
Enigmatic green and red florals capped by ascending butterflies alternate with bird images in the cathedral-like windows on the side of this large vessel by Kyoto artist Yamazaki Koyo enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase is 13-1/2 inches (34 cm) tall and in fine condition, dating circa 1950. Koyo (1890-1979) studied under Kiyomizu Rokubei VI, and was displayed consistently in many National and Local Exhibitions...
A 4-3/4" tall splint and sweetgrass woven Native American Northeastern embroidery or sewing thread lidded basket c1900-30. This 5" diameter Penobscot or Passamaquoddy basket retains traces of its original green and red colour and the sweetgrass still has a pleasant aroma. It is in very good condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a small split on one thin horizontal splint on the shoulder (see enlargement 4) and the fading of the external colour...
4 pieces of Nara Uchiwa whose history dates back to Nara period (A.D.710~794). It began as manual side line work of the Shinto priest of Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara. The traditional motifs (Tenpyo Moyo) such as peonix, deer, kylin (imaginary animal), dragon, Parrot etc. These four (originally five) were made by Ikeda Gankodo which is only existing maker of it in Nara. A stunning Globular Bizen vase like burnished bronze covered by a dusting of ash by living National Treasure Yamamoto Toshu enclosed in an artist signed wooden box.
