Midcentury Modern sterling silver picture frame. Made by Watrous Mfg. Co. (part of International) in Wallingford, Conn. Rectangular window in clean and unadorned flat surround. With glass, silk lining, and velvet back and hinged easel support for portrait (vertical) display. Fully marked including Watrous and International stamps and no. 30. Very good condition.

Large sterling silver berry spoon in Kirk's wonderful "Repousse" pattern. Certainly the most famous of all silver patterns to emerge from Baltimore, "Repousse" is filled with flowers such as roses, daisies and forget-me-nots. The bowl of the spoon is decorated with mixed fruit including strawberries, apples, grapes and raspberries. The back is marked "S. Kirk & Son Sterling", the mark used between 1927 and 1961.

Being offered is a rare and early circa 1955 sterling silver and wood salad serving set made by William Spratling of Taxco, Mexico; handcrafted salad set made of carved wood with incised lines and silver striated bands on the handles. Dimensions: 12 1/2 inches long. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition.

Finely carved pair of reticulated carved floral bookends, each depicting a vase with flowers in it, signed by the artist, towards mid 20th century. Size, Dimensions of each item are 5"H x 4"W x 1.75"D. Condition Report; One bookend with small chip to the corner of the stone base.

Stoneware water jar or mizusashi as used in the tea ceremony with round bottom developing into a diamond shaped edge. Greyish smooth stoneware, decorated with horizontal grooves, covered with brown iridescent glaze on the outside and with a mottled greenish-yellow glaze on the inside, dripping over the outside edge and down. Black lacquered, diamond-shaped coved. Takatori style, Japan, early Showa era, circa 1930-1950s.

An attractive 4-1/4" across and 1-3/8" high sterling silver pierced nut or candy bowl, made by Birks, Canada's finest finery retailer. This bowl weighs 58.8 grams (2.05 ounces) and it is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. This little wooden box is a fantasy delight to hold your most often worn rings and other jewels. It has a leather-look surface embossed with a gryffon rampant on top. The edges and all sides are ornately patterned. It as a lock, but the key has disappeared into the mists of time. There are some minor scuffs on surface. The box is 4¼” x 3½” x 2¼” in size. The age unknown, best guess is midcentury.

Vintage Japanese cylindrical form stoneware lidded mizusashi (water vessel for the tea ceremony) with horizontal ribs covered in a light creamy tan colored glaze with dripped patterning that stops short of the flat foot and recessed base. The interior and underside of the lid are coated in a glossy brown glaze. 20th century. Stands about 6 5/8" high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This piece is from a Tucson, AZ estate.

Incense box of irregular circular shape. Over a light gray clay thickly applied opaque, lightly crackled glaze with feldspar that leaves bare a few small areas uncovered, which colored orange red during firing. On the cover a few circular black-brown underglaze "brush strokes".
Although bottom and cover clearly match, they do not make an airtight close line, but leave a couple of gaps. Few very short firing cracks.

A limited-edition color woodblock print by the Japanese Sosaku Hanga artist Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997). Titled "Obakusan Uji (A)", dated "1960" and numbered "38/150" in pencil. Hand signed in black ink and with red seal. Paper with watermark "Kiyoshi Saito". Condition: very good impression and color, laid down at upper corners.
