A fantastic sculptured vase by the outlandish Fujioka Shuhei enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Iga Hanaire. A frenzied stack of rugged corners like the fallen away sides of a mountain revealing the earth’s structure beneath a layer of green. It is likely Fujiokasan is inspired by the brawny, rain drenched and forested mountains surrounding the town of Iga, where the Mountains formed a natural line of defense for the secret clans of Ninja who called the valley their home.

Once again Abe Anjin has lived up to our expectations in this Mount Fuji sake cup with his most sought after style of saishoku colors. A fantastic Tea Bowl by rising star Furutani Kazuya enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Shigaraki Chawan. Ash-glaze blasted with fire color of foggy green and yellow shizen yu glaze, shell props on the side, allowing us a view into the firing as it lay on its side in the kiln, the molten ash building up on the opposite side and following gravity down in streams. A sumptuous work exploiting the best Shigaraki pottery has to offer.

A powerful sake bottle in dark wet clay by Abe Anjin enclosed in the original signed double-wooden box titled Bizen Tokkuri. Once again Abe Anjin has proven his mastery of tradition with this superb rendition. Impurities in the clay mark the surface with pale ash dusts round the shoulders and rivulets of glaze running like lava down the side. In the lower raw clay hints of yellow flash where flame has licked the body.
