Very large Oribe teabowl that was thrown and tataki paddled with texture into an oval form. There are two tones of green from the oribe on the bare clay and over areas of poured white slip. The foot is tooled by hand, off the wheel, to go with the form of the bowl.

This large and imposing Oribe mizusashi was made by long time Mino potter, Hayashi Shotaro. Thrown out of a fine Mino clay, much of the surface was cut away to create a surface of wonderful flat planes and rough areas of faceted clay which was then glaze in Hayashi's rich Oribe glaze. This large, textured and incised Iga wood fired vessel is by multi-talented artist, Ohira Kazumasa (b.1943). This vase measures 15" tall and 7" at its widest and is in original condition with heavy texturing along the sides and incised decoration and ginirodori style overglaze on either side of the piece. Large, totemic Shigaraki vase by veteran master craftsman, Tani Seiuemon I. This impressive and well fired Shigaraki hanaire was thrown in two sections and joined to create the vase and foot of this pot made out of wonderful kinose clay from the region.

Wonderful and intricate ash glazed plate by Ningen Kokuho (Juyo Mukei Bunkazai) Shimaoka Tatsuzo. This large plate, hachi, is absolutely genuine and has all of the characteristics of Shimaoka, from clay, glaze and foot (kodai). This plate measures 12.25” X 2.25.
