Generous Hagi chawan with a variety of colors infused within the white based glaze on a rich iron clay body by veteran potter, Udagawa Seikoku. This chawan is in great condition, measures 12.5 x 9cm and comes complete with its original signed wood box.

Bold and powerful te-oke form by Mashiko veteran potter, Takauchi Shugo (b. 1937). Roughly thrown, Takauchi then hacked away vertical channels down the form adding dimension to the pot and disrupting the thrown marks that encircle the vase which stands as a quintessential form by this potter. Elegant and extremely practical E-Shino chawan by well known, veteran Mino potter, Arimoto Kugen (b. 1963). Working in Hiroshima at the foot of Mount Futatsugajo an old castle site and hiking region, Arimoto produces a wide array of noble forms dedicated to the old style of the Shino tradition with an emphasis on chadogu. This vivid Aka-e tsubo was made by Persian blue specialist Kato kenji who is as well known for his brilliant overglaze enamels as he is for his rich temmoku and Mino tradition pottery. Lustrous and richly glazed chawan by Raku specialist, Sasaki Shoraku, this is not your typical chawan. Created and inspired by Honami Koetsu's Kamiya chawan, this large, broad, high quality utsushi chawan has a deep black surface with areas of rusty red sprinkled on the interior and exterior of the bowl creating a wonderful landscape which is as pleasant to look at as it is to hold. Large, bold and timeless Shino chawan is by the master potter and legendary personality; Tsukigata Nahiko (1923-2006). Created in classical and timeless style guided by his master, Arakawa Toyozo, this chawan has a strong Momoyama inspired form with an aesthetic that is among the strongest of the 20th century Mino tradition. The intentionally distorted shape fits the hand well and the lip, mikomi and kodai all act to balance out a truly inspired work by a potter of the highest level.

Rich, almost volcanic deep red Shino chawan by multi-talented potter, Matsuzaki Ken. This large chawan has a tremendous amount of character and movement with a surface that resembles the Enbu work of Yamada Kazu though made before it was premiered. The thick, unctuous surface has a wonderful feel in the hand and is potently juxtaposed against the crimson red of the base glaze. This is a rather exhilarating bowl at a fraction of his contemporaries and his gallery prices.

Robust and rather practical Haku-ji chawan by veteran Kawai school potter; Mukunoki Eizo. Covered over in a thick coating of Hakuji style glaze the surface has shimmering crystals formed by tin throughout the surface creating a rather pleasant surface. Randomly patterned and ethereal porcelain mizusashi by nunozome master, Uwataki Katsuji. This wonderful example of Uwataki's nunozome technique is a fine mizusashi with pastel colors floating just under the surface of the vellum glaze making for a modern Arita tea ceremony object. Robust and rare mizusashi by veteran and highly important potter, Morino Taimei. Using two glazes, green enamel and silver overglaze this mizusashi is a classic example of Morino's work and a wonderful modern tea piece.

This mizusashi measures 20 x 16.5 cm and is in perfect condition with its original signed wood box and is clearly stamped on the base.

Large roughly faceted teabowl with a raised carved ridge around the center with my Ao+ gosu style glaze. This teabowl is finished off with a carved, hexagonal foot.

Robust and feudal style Ko-Iga style chawan by veteran potter, Kojima Kenji. This broad bowl has a strong, purposeful form which gentlely undulates around the pot and is seen in the roving lip and the chawan is finished with a classic foot as seen on many of Kojima's teabowls.
