This is a magnificent, handmade, c.1930-40 sterling and amethyst bracelet in the style of Fred Davis. Possibly by Fred Davis but signed only Silver Mexico. The large, chunky, amethysts are a bright purple and faceted into a round dome. They are free of chips or cracks. The stones are a great compliment to the graceful, flowing silver design. Measuring 8" end to end and 1 3/8" wide, this is a massive bracelet weighing 116 grams...

A charming chain and dangling ball sterling necklace by Horacio Parra. Horacio de le Parra was a manager in 1950 of Conquistador which was the largest silver factory in Mexico at the time. He was a friend of both William Spratling and Hector Aguilar. This piece is certainly of the same quality as their work. It measures 15" end to end and is 1" wide. Weighing 104 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed as shown. A wonderful necklace.

A spectacular early 970 silver and moonstone necklace by Antonio Pineda. I believe this design of alternating silver leafs and moonstone clusters to be quite rare. The moonstones are beautiful, clear and blue and free of any chips or cracks. They are all original and none have been replaced. The necklace measures 15" or so. It is curved to fit the neck so hard to get an exact measurement. It is 3/4" wide and weighs 108 grams. Signed as shown in the photo...

Handsome sterling belt buckle by Hector Aguilar. This piece is featured on page 101 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. They date it c. 1945. Suitable for a man or woman, it measures 2" by 1 1/4" and weighs 34 grams. Fine original condition. Signed as shown. Great for todays fashion.

A stunning obsidian and sterling bracelet by Felipe Martinez who opened his workshop "Piedra Y Plata" in 1950. The surface of the S shaped stones is smooth and highly polished and impeccably fused into the silver. The design beautifully combines movement, line and color. This bracelet,c.1955, is featured in the Morrill book MEXICAN SILVER on page 189 with a green variegated stone rather than obsidian...

Early William Spratling 980 silver bracelet with the marks dating it 1933-40. Spratling hallmarks can be reviewed on the website www.spratlingsilver.com. Classic, recognizable Spratling design, this bracelet has a pin closure and measures 6 3/4" end to end and is 7/8" wide. It is one of the bracelets featured on page 43 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk.Fine original condition, nice patina. Appropriately signed as shown. A great early Spratling bracelet.

A massive sculptural silver and center bezel set oval amethyst bracelet by Taxco silversmith Fred Davis. Although the stone is the focal point, it is the shape of the links which the eye cannot resist. In excellent original condition, c. 1930, this bracelet measures 8" end to end and is 1 5/8" wide. The 7 bezel set cabachon amethyst drops are attached on hinges suspending from the silver " X's" and they move. A large and bold mid-century moderne sterling and tiger eye ring by Taxco silversmith Antonio Pineda. The stone is fabulous - great color and striations. And BIG-- The ring is 1 1/2" long and 1 1/8" wide. It is a size 9 but can be sized without loss of the mark.The ring is plain in the back. Suitable for a man or woman, it is in fine condition but has a very slight split in one side section of the bezel. It does not detract from the ring in any way...

A superb necklace by Carmen Beckmann. Rare to find, it has 6 oval bezel set unfaceted amethysts as the focus of each of the six panels. Measuring 16 1/2" end to end and 1' wide, it weighs 95 grams and is in fine original condition. There are no chips or cracks in the stones. Lines that you see are natural inclusions all under the surface of the stone. Circa 1960-70, this is a beautiful necklace.

Striking sterling necklace by Reveriano Castillo. He was among the first apprentices with William Spratling and later worked with Hector Aguilar at the Taller Borda. In 1952, he and Maria Castillo opened their own shop that they called "REVERI". This necklace is simple and elegant as typical of their style. It measures 16" end to end, is 1" wide and weighs 68 grams. Fine original condition and signed with his RC mark as shown. Feels and looks wonderful on the neck.

Rare and magnificent sterling abstract and obsidian screwback earrings by Salvador Teran. Striking design and beautiful stones. They are 1 1/8" long and 1" wide at the widest part. Fine original condition. Signed and numbered for Salvador Teran as shown. Even more wonderful on the ear.

A fabulous and unusual 2 1/4" wide sterling cuff with pearls and onyx by Los Ballesteros. The scalloped edges really dress up this piece. It measures 6" around in the inside and has a 1 1/4" opening. It is not adjustable and weighs 66 grams.This is an early piece, c. 1945. Fine original condition and hallmarked for Los Ballesteros as shown. This is a beautiful cuff.

A great pair of mid-century modern 970 silver and turquoise earrings by Antonio Pineda. Inspired by the Greek key design, these screwback earrings measure 1 1/8" long and 3/4" at the widest point. Beautiful original condition and hallmarked with the Antonio crown , eagle ,Hecho En Mexico 970. These are unique and awesome!

Large, exquisite silver and amethyst brooch by Fred W. Davis, c. 1930. Davis combined amethyst quartz and silver in many of his pieces. This massive brooch measures 3 1/3" by 1 1/2" and is in fine original condition. It weighs 43 grams and is signed FD Silver Mexico as shown. I have never seen this piece offered before and believe it to be quite rare. A stunning blazer or coat pin and an important piece from Fred Davis.

Very early, pre-eagle mark, sterling necklace by Los Castillo. A bold and important piece, it is featured on page 87 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Morrill and Berk. They date it c. 1945. Beautiful geometric design, it measures 15" around total. The center section is 4 1/2" across and 1 1/2" wide. Solid at 135 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed for Los Castillo as shown. It is gorgeous in every way.

A terrific abstract mid-century modern sterling bracelet by Taxco silversmith Sigi Pineda. It is hinged in the back and pulls open in the front at the horizontal lines, most ingenious! The bezel set aventurine stone is a nice touch. These are the kind of designs for which Sigi is most celebrated. The bracelet is 6 3/4" around in the inside and 1 1/8" wide at the front.It weighs 60 grams.Signed for vintage Sigi Pineda as shown. A really special bracelet from this great designer.
