A very delicate and feminine yet dramatic sterling and white enamel necklace by Norwegian designer David Andersen. This beautiful pin was modeled from Hubert Harmon's "Angel Brooch", which was taken from the escutcheon on the doorway of the Casa del Corazon in Taxco.The Harmon brooch is featured on page 107 of the catalog from the exhibit MAESTRO DE PLATA, WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE. A stunning and powerful sterling and amethyst drop necklace by Taxco silversmith Antonio Pineda. The 7 bezel set cabachon amethyst drops are attached on hinges suspending from the silver " X's" and they move. One of William Spratlings' most recognizable pieces is this Aztec figure pin with a large amethyst. Circa 1940, it is featured on page 39 of the book MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill. Measuring 1 1/2" long and 1 1/8" wide, most of the surface of the pieces is the large square cabachon amethyst which measures 1"long and 5/8" wide.
