This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Manufactory KPM around 1835. The cup is 3 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 ½ inches. The saucer has a diameter of 6 inches. It is inscribed “Andenhen an den 8ten Funi 1835” on the front of the cup, translated as Commemoration of the 8th of June 1835. The bottom of the cup is inscribed “Zur Erinnerung von F.G. Weise aus Wulften” or “As a reminder of F.G. Weise from Wulften” The cup has three claw feet and an ornate handle. There is a hand painted scene on the front of the cup of a sumptuous estate with a man and woman in the foreground. The painting is precise in perspective. Historical events and architectural achievements were documented for posterity on cups and saucers such as this one. Condition: The gilding on the saucer has minor wear. There is very minor wear to the gold trim on the 3 feet of the cup.

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by the Ambrosius Lamm Dresden studio in the 1880s. It is titled “Vierte Nachtstunde” or Fourth Hour of the Night after Raphael. The plate is 9 ½ inches in diameter. It is hand painted with the night goddess holding an owl while suspended on clouds. The hand painting is finely detailed and the coloring is vivid. The border is hand gilded with an elaborate design containing lyres. The plate has similarities to some done by Royal Vienna or KPM. Condition: The gold trim on the outer edge has slight wear.

The cup is 3 1/4 inches tall without the handle. The cup features an empire style handle that sweeps up over the rim. The ground color is magenta red. There is a large reserve on the front of the cup containing a hand painted scene. An elegant 18th century couple are strolling in a garden landscape. The painting is detailed and colorful. A cartouche of elaborate gilding frames the scene. Borders of raised and beaded gilding accent both pieces. The handle and rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Slight wear to gilding in well of saucer where cup sits. There are no other issues.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Ambrosius Lamm Dresden studio in the 1890s. Both pieces are marked with the blue lamb marking. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches. The cup is 1 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The borders are trimmed with royal blue coloring. The front of the cup has an 18th century couple dancing. They are beautifully hand painted with fine detail. The sides of the cup and interior of the saucer are accented with raised gilding. The blue borders have beaded and raised gold designs. The gilded interior of the cup has a raised gold medallion at the bottom. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. This is an exceptional and rare demitasse cup and saucer. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Ambrosius Lamm Dresden Studio in the 1880s. Both pieces are signed with the hand painted lamb marking. The saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 1/2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 7/8 inches. The cup features a split branch handle and rococo pedestal base. The ground color is sky blue. The exterior of the cup has a hand painted panoramic scene. Children are playing in the woods. They are painted in fine detail and bright coloring in a wooded landscape. The saucer has elaborate, raised gilding. The gilding is matching on the cup. This is an early Lamm Dresden cup and saucer in the style of Royal Vienna and Meissen, that is very rare. Condition: Excellent. For accuracy, the cup has 3 minute pits in the glaze inside, The foot of the saucer is rough from the factory. It was made that way.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Trenton, New Jersey, USA, by Lenox around 1906. It was produced especially for The Cowell & Hubbard Company of Cleveland, Ohio. The saucer measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/4 inches. The porcelain has the distinctive ivory hue. Vignettes with a beautiful lady and a Colonial Williamsburg mansion in the other are on either side of the cup. Gilded baskets of hand painted pink roses are joined together with raised turquoise beaded garlands on the saucer. The turquoise beads loop around the cup as well. Opulent, embossed gilding trims the rims of both pieces and the handle is shiny gold. It is totally delightful and was made in America. Condition: Excellent, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain and silver bowl was produced in the United States by Lenox in the early 20th century. It has a diameter of 6 inches and is 3 1/4 inches high. The porcelain has the ivory hue that is the Lenox porcelain trade mark. The rim of the bowl is scalloped and it has a pedestal foot. The outer mid-section of the bowl has a ring of colorful hand painted flowers encircling it. The scalloped rim has a border of silver overlay in a leaf pattern. The leaves are finely etched. The foot of the bowl has a band of silver on it. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Trenton New Jersey by Lenox around 1906. The set was produced especially for the jewelry retailer, Shreve & Co. of San Francisco. The pattern name is “Virginian”. The saucer is 4 ¾ inches in diameter and the cup is 1 ¾ inches high. The ivory colored porcelain is decorated with cameos of a lady having tea and the front gates to a mansion. They are hand painted and framed in embossed gilding. Garlands of raised turquoise beads surround both pieces. The saucer has gilded baskets with hand painted roses spilling out. Embossed gilding trims the rims and the handle is also gilded. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain serving platter was produced in France by Coiffe Limoges in the late 19th century. It measures 12 1/2 inches across the handles. The porcelain was purchased white ware to be painted by a studio artist. There is a signature on the back. The ground color has a slightly creamy hue. The flowing pink roses and foliage tumble down the middle of the platter. They are realistically hand painted in shades of pink and green. The rim and handles are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in France in the late 19th century. The blank was manufactured by Tressemann and Vogt Limoges and the decoration was done by an unknown decorator using a spurious Sevres marking. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 3 1/4 inches high without the handle. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The cup features a figural handle in the shape of a peacock. There is a reserve on the front of the cup containing a hand painted scene of lovers in a garden landscape. It is beautifully painted in vibrant colors. The scene is framed in elaborate raised gilding. There are gilded accents and trim on both pieces. The inside of the cup is peach colored. This is a magnificent antique cup and saucer for display. Condition: Excellent

This three piece demitasse cup, saucer and plate was produced in Germany by Meissen before 1920. The plate has a diameter of 7 inches, the saucer is 4 1/4 inches, and the cup is 2 inches high. The cup has a split twig handle. All of the pieces have little pointed edges. It is decorated with tiny scattered flowers. They are brightly colored. All of the pieces are trimmed in gold. Condition: Excellent. This is first quality Meissen porcelain.

This porcelain plaque or charger was produced in Germany by Meissen around 1900. It was painted by the renowned artist Professor Julius Eduard Braunsdorf who was apprenticed at Meissen 1858. He was a specialist flower painter and art teacher. The plaque is 14 inches in diameter and has a piercing on the foot rim for hanging. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The brightness of the flowers against the dark blue ground makes a dramatic contrast. The roses are painted with expert brushwork with attention to detail. The flowers, leaves and stems show all the stages of the plant life from buds to fading blooms. Notice the droplets of dew on a petal or leaf. It is undeniably the workmanship of a master artist. The center has 3 cherubs, painted in puce. There are 3 reserves around the border containing sprays of flowers. The reticulation is outlined in gold and there are gilded accents. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain chamber stick was produced in Germany by Meissen in the late 19th century. It has first quality crossed swords under glaze. It is 2 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 5 inches. The handle is shaped like a branch and there is a flower on the top. It is hand painted with brilliant colors. The pattern is known as “Little Table” an ancient Japanese design. The painting is detailed and very ornate. There is a delicate border in orange and gold. The candle holder, handle and rim are trimmed with gold. It is a lovely accent piece for any decor. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain charger or platter was produced in Germany by Meissen between 1860 and 1880. It has the first quality blue crossed swords marking under the glaze. It is 11 inches in diameter and 2 inches deep. There is a 2 inch reticulated border. The center of the charger has a ring of tiny hand painted flowers in pastel colors. Directly in the center is a delicate medallion that looks like a snow flake. In 3 sections of the border are reserves with sprays of pastel colored flowers, surrounded by elaborate gilding. These areas are molded in high relief. The rims have a cobalt blue border. The edge is gilded. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

This porcelain slipper or shoe was produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. It has first quality crossed swords markings under glaze. It measures 6 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is hand modeled in the shape of a Persian style slipper. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. There is a reserve on the front of the shipper with hand painted flowers, realistically painted in vibrant colors. It is framed with an elaborate hand gilded frame. The rims of the slipper are trimmed with lacy gilding. It is a unique piece that might be used as a ring dish. It is a wonderful collector piece. Condition: Excellent, first quality, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced at Meissen around 1800. It has the first quality under glaze blue crossed swords with a star under it. The saucer is 5 3/8 inches in diameter and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup is 2 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches. the ground color is cobalt blue. The cup has a reserve with a portrait of Abelard and the saucer has a portrait of Heloise. There was a story of two lovers in 12th century France, Heloise and Abelard, who were denied permission to marry. They eloped and married against her father’s wishes. Heloise was beaten by her father and sent to live in a convent the rest of her life. It is a sad story portrayed in literature and art. Here is Meissen’s interpretation of the lovers’ tale of woe on porcelain. The exquisite portraits of the man and woman are framed in embossed gold. There are other gold accents and gold trim. This is a true artistic treasure. Condition: Light wear to gilding on rim of cup.
