This pair of glass candlesticks was produced in Europe. They are unmarked but we think that they are Bohemian, made in the 1920's. They are 8 3/4 inches high and the base has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches. The glass has a lead content and makes a ringing sound when tapped. They are hand blown and joined in four parts. They have pontils on the bottoms. The shape creates an elegant, sleek silhouette. It is sometimes difficult to know how old a piece of glass is so we take clues from the style or how much wear is on the bottom edges. There is sufficient wear to the bottoms of these candlesticks to know that they were not made in recent years. They have an art deco look. Condition: One candlestick has a popped bubble in the glass that occurred in the manufacturing process. There are no other defects. This handsome pair of candlesticks is in excellent condition.
